$18.60 isnt even that great imo

$12-14 is the sweet spot for PLA/PETG
Usually you get that price by combining this deal above with the various 20% off promotions.

yeah im looking at 5kg petg for $75 or 10kg for $140 brings it to just under $15

Advice to all: HODL, unless you need it immediately

      • kingroon on ali is always around this price too. i got 10kg petg down to $108 recently.

        • I've found that buying filament off AliE is getting extremely frustrating. Either they suddenly and mysteriously don't deliver to the address anymore - especially true of there is something cheaper - but a more expensive off from the SAME seller does deliver to Aus. Or you literally see the 'real' price momentarily until it switches to a much higher cost. Not sure if they are clamping down on Aus buyers or something but it's really annoying.

@bboz: EBay is easier and more consistent.
Shipping is free, generally well tracked - and no taxes etc added

            • @Commodore64: Agree but it's also true that AliE used to be different. I've bought from there before and there were no issues. Something's changed.

        • I just threw 8 rolls of Kingroon black petg out. It kept jamming, clogging the extruder.

Always wait for the regular eBay sale coupon with Sunlu and Jayo sellers.

I see this isn’t your first rodeo.

  • Any quality difference between Jayo and Sunlu by any chance? Thanks guys!

    • +2

I tried jayo last time, it's was pretty much the same but cheaper and slightly bigger spool

      • +1

Agreed. 10% more for same price (although it’s often a tad cheaper).
The cardboard spool also seems like it could be more environmentally friendly

    • same, sunlu listing sometimes has more colours and range in stock though

both come in resealable bag with filament clip on plastic spools

    • Jayo is sister company of sunlu

  • This is just their regular price, it's not a deal.

The deal comes when they have a 20% discount promotion.

regular price, wait for a restock and 20% promo

I didn't love the sunlu filaments I got. Had to set the extrusion multiplier to 1.15 on basically all of them to get correct flow. Makes me wonder if they were even 1.75mm….

Switched back to esun and every roll of filament is bang on 1.00 extrusion

    • Did you use pla or pla+ from Sunlu?

      • +2

PLA+ in white, black, rainbow - don't rate the extremely glossy finishes. Looks cheap and nasty.

PLA wood filament - extremely wispy and needs tonnes of post processing but nice enough finish.

PETG in blue - left TONNES of glycol residue all over my hot end

    • haven't had any issue with the PLA Meta

  • just putting out there i saw on the jayo 3d store they have re-stocked most if not all of their usual offerings - will be buying up some translucent coloured ones in my next 10 i think, and 2-3 of the marble white - prints great, nice finish and much more fun than standard bright white.

    • New to 3D printing here..is Jayo better then Sunlu?

      • +1

        Same factory

        • but most believe sunlu to be better grade of filament. ymmv. i only had issues with jayo silk gold pla so far (apparently even the bambu official one has same issue) where feeding through ams sometimes throws up blockage errors (the waste filament aka poop is very thick) - the sunlu listings have some 'rarer' options like sakura pink or chocolate brown, and some nice two/three colour sometimes - which the jayo listings do not have.

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I havent noticed any differences, even the colour shades are exactly the same, I changed to a new filament from sunlu to jayo white and couldnt notice any difference

            • +1

@igoforthebest: nice good to know - my plan was always to buy just the ones that jayo didnt do in their ebay listings…and i mean lets face it - is there a point to shell out for extra for the common stuff?
