Spend too much time on my phone . Anyone tried going solo with a apple watch only? and leave the phone at home.
Can you use it for GPS directions in car and have it blast audio directions at you while driving ?

Go to Settings > Screen Time.
Tap App Limits, then tap Add Limit.
Select one or more app categories.
To set limits for individual apps, tap the category name to see all the apps in that category, then select the apps you want to limit. If you select multiple categories or apps, the time limit you set applies to all of them.
Tap Next at the top right, then set the amount of time allowed.
To set an amount of time for each day, tap Customize Days, then set limits for specific days.

Open your device's Settings app.
Tap Digital Wellbeing & parental controls.
Tap the chart.
Next to the app you want to limit, tap Set timer .
Choose how much time you can spend in that app. Then, tap OK.
Tip: When you run out of time, the app closes and its icon dims. Keep in mind:
App timers reset at midnight.
To use the app again before midnight, follow steps 1–4 above and delete the app timer.
What are you spending the time on? If it’s an app like instagram, delete it
Do you really want to be looking at a tiny screen on your wrist for your GPS when operating a motor vehicle?
To minimise my risk of driving infringements I insert and AirPod and operate my phone (kept in my pocket) via Siri, including directions and arrival time etc.
Apple watch wouldn't last a whole day without a recharge, if you want to use it as your main device.
Ultra 2 would easily get through a day
$1400 . Is there a cheap option like a ultra 1 ? Or something that will last the whole day haha

Good on you for trying to spend less time on your phone. Before you toss the phone completely, maybe first try deleting all your time wasting apps (and maybe even the accounts associated with them) and set up screen time / screen limits and see how you go.
