    • +2

Last time I checked Voda sims don't expire however you get 90GB bonus if activated by 10/11/24.

      • Neeerrrrrd !

I bought one pack from Woolworths last November, pack say activate within 1 years since purchase, activated this month, no problem.

      • Did you get the latest 'offer' for the 12 month plan or did you lose data because you didn't activate soon after you bought it? I'm not sure how it works?

  • How is vodafone network compared to boost and amaysim?

    • Depends on your location.

    • +4

      stick with boost

    • +2

For me, in the Sydney CBD, vodafone was much worse on george street compared to Optus/Telstra.

Optus have more then double the 5G spectrum deployed, with 100mhz of n78 and 60mhz of n40, compared to 60mhz of n78 on Telstra. Telstra do own more but their AAU's (antenna) don't support the part of that spectrum (In Sydney)

      • Vodafone and Optus are both better than Telstra on Phillip Street between Bridge St and Hunter St.
/just saying. your specific location can still really matter even in metro areas and the CBD

        • It is hard to believe even in 2024 this is the state of thing for Aussie telcos. Not a single one is good enough. I've Boost and constantly run into issues in northwestern Sydney areas especially in malls.

    • Boost is much better.

      • Telstra reception is actually weaker where I live.

So the sim card deals have begun thanks OP

    • +5

Vodafone literally have this deal every other week. Usually at Woolworths, same price with 2000 reward points and you can use the 10% discount.

      • if i rem correctly the woolworths one was $150 for 240 and sometimes + 60GB extra. And of the 2 times i purchased it i only received 1000 reward points… unless the info is wrong and its not 240 + 90gb…

        • +1

The info is wrong. It has always been 150 + 90. Been buying them for my kids for years.

        • looks like they updated it to -

          Includes:
          365-day expiry
          1500GB + 90GB Bonus if activated by 10/11/24
          5G enabled
          Data banking

obviously typo and should be 150 :(

I remember few years ago we used to get Kogan 40GB SIMs for 1c.

      • -4

In fact, data should be provided free by mobile phone manufacturers/companies just like how national phone calls or text from public phone is free now.

        • -1

We cant have that , got to pay their ceo's millions in bonuses , it really is a messed up world .

  • Does it include international calls?

    • +1

Think only the Costco version does

  • +1

Don’t forget to scan flybuys card

  • Can you use gift cards to buy this?

  • Can we receive messages while in overseas for free?

  • +1

As per the wording, it seems that it's 240gb total.

    240GB
    $250
Includes 90GB bonus data on activation

    • +4

Got downvoted for pointing that out. It's 150GB + 90GB bonus data

      • +2

Yeah, Oops, i was one of the downvoters. You seem to be right. As per https://www.vodafone.com.au/prepaid/plans, it seems total is 240gb including 90gb bonus

      • +1

As per the Critical Information Summary, the base plan includes 150GB. This is just a 90gb bonus on top of 150gb. Not 240gb + 90gb.

  • 1500GB + 90GB Bonus if activated by 10/11/24

How come nobody has noticed this yet in the description?
    1500 GB 😬

    • Think OP is posting from the pub again

  • Better offer than Optus prices imh.

    • +1

A few weeks ago, there were great prices on amaysim. Personally think the voda network sucks where i am.

      • Yeah no compromise on network quality at your place of residence and usual place of work. But if network quality same for both providers, voda phone has always better value for money.

  • +1

Kogan the Bogan has 500GB for $150 if you dont mind 4G voda network.

  • +1

Anyone can guess if Costco will do an 99 aud like last year?

    • Very likely.

  • Advice from anyone who has used both Vodafone and Everyday mobile?

This Vodafone deal or Everyday mobile posted earlier?

Hows recpetion in Perth region and regional areas of WA?
User is considering using with apple watch cellular as well.

    • +2

Don’t bother with voda in regional WA, will likely be no coverage or b5 5mhz 1x1 (24mbps of capacity). Wait until the mocn gets approved or check https://www.rfnsa.com.au/?first=1 to see what sites you have near you. This plan also doesn’t support apple watch cellular, have to be on a postpaid plan on the major 3 for that.

      • Handy link - thanks

Apple watch cellular only Postpaid?! that's a bummer

  • Can you choose a custom number with this?

    • You’re given a limited list of numbers to choose from

  • Can you use this with an LTE smartwatch?

    • -1

No, you’ll need prepaid plan for that

  • +1

These were $99 at Costco last Black Friday.

    • Yes and includes international calls

  • I already have my number, Can i use my post-paid number with this?
Need to save some money for my beer 🍻

  • +1

For those who are concerned, WiFi calling doesn’t work on Vodafone when you are overseas, unlike Telstra and Boost.

  • Do they still charge for international calls? Can you make international calls on this plan?

  • I bought one from costco for $100 last Christmas.

And no speed cap. Just tested to have 400'ish Mbps.

    • Is it still available from Costco?

  • +2

Kogan uses Voda, so just pay $1 more and get 500GB for 12 months.
Not seeing any value in this deal.

    • +2

Kogan is 4G only. Vodafone has 5G. In Sydney CBD, speedtests for Vodafone 5G were around 270/280 Mbps, while its 4G if I remember correctly maybe around 100 Mbps.

Someone regrets about using Kogan in western Sydney. So, maybe depends on your location and type of phone. Different phone, different speedtest, (maybe antenna and setting matter).

      • It also depends what 5G type you’re using. Most vodafone 5G deployments are 5G SA (standalone) which doesn’t utilise the 4G network to anchor a 5G connection.

I found voda 5G to be slow compared to optus in the sydney cbd

Belong is moving to $21 per month. Time to move.
