TCL C855 85" QD Mini-LED TV $2741 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

730

Slightly less than the previous deal and don’t have to wait till stocks. Not a lot of additional stuff to say about this TV as this is one of our OZB favorites and discussed plenty of times before. Cheers!

        • Good to hear! 👍🏽

  • Why are these mini led's so expensive compared to the mini led's of last year? i got a 75 inch mini led for $1200 in black friday sale.. yet now they are double or triple the price?

New model. Early adopter pricing. I'm guessing these models will come down in price too.

Also, there's a significant boost in dimming zones.

      TCL C845 TCL C855
      65-inch 576 dimming zones 1344 dimming zones
      75-inch 720 dimming zones 2160 dimming zones
      85-inch 896 dimming zones 2304 dimming zones

Weird that the 85 inch has fewer zones than the 75. Wonder if that's a misprint.

I've edited the C855 column to reflect the data from the TCL website.

That much dimming zone improvement is worth the price increase.

    • Can't really compare 75 inch price and 85 inch price, usually any TV above 65 inch will have a quite significant jump on the price per one size up. Also are you comparing the same TCL C845? Because a quick search on Ozb last year model of this TV cost $2.3k and its available in 2024. So this is a good price considering you are getting the latest model.

  • From memory there were two iterations of the C845 last year. Something like x1 and later in the year, x2. Does anyone know what I'm referring to and can they provide details? Were there any benefits in waiting for the x2?

I believe the same may happen with this model. As some buyers have posted that their C855 model says x1

I've at least partially answered my own question. Found this on a post from around Easter time:

.."identify it using the TV firmware.

In Settings/System/About, scroll down to Product Information. If it reads V8-T613T03-#######.######, where # = any letter or numeral, you have the older MediaTek MT9615. If it’s V8-T653T01 etc. it’s the new Pentonic"..

So yeah, the processor got upgraded.

Yesterday morning saw this and contacted JB online support straightway. I bought this TV on 21th Jun and scheduled to deliver in July. I used price match at that moment - $3230 including shipping. The JB customer support checked and gave me $430 credit. Thanks OP.

  • Hi all
