  • That's a decent price. Personally though, having used both v1 and v2 models, I'm inclined towards the v1. The analog sticks on the v2 are spongier, and feel like a major downgrade from the v1. The v1 is heavier though, which may not be to everyone's liking.

Whay are your favourite mobile games that make a purchase like this worthwhile?

      • +1

Pretty much anything on Game Pass + XB Cloud Gaming.

Ah nice, do you need a top of the range phone for good performance, or just a good 5G connection? I've only ever done cloud gaming with a Surface device on local wifi.

@King Steuart: A good 4G / 5G connection would do, but obviously a low latency wifi connection would serve best. You don't need the latest smartphone out there. I game on my OnePlus 5 and iPhone XR (got Kishi v1 for both Android and iPhone when they were crazy cheap on eBay, can't find the deal to link it right now)

@King Steuart: Of course, compared to a larger screen, there are compromises. Some games just won't play nice. I travel a lot for work, and that's when the Kishi gets used mostly. These days I'm playing Devil May Cry, Forza Horizon 5 (needs a very stable wifi / data connection), No Man's Sky and Cricket 22.

V1 is straight A garbage, so if V2 is worse, I can't imagine what it's like.

  • This or Backbone One Gen2 or Galileo G8?

    • -1

Galileo G8+ just released, pre ordered, it's wireless and seems better than G8.

      • Oh snap. Where can you pre order?

      • Link for Galileo G8+ ?

      • What makes it better? Quick check of Reddit it supports Bluetooth, but don’t really need that since my devices are USB-C anyway.

Anyway on the OPs question, if portability is not an issue, get the G8. If you want a smaller device get the Backbone. I have both and both are good, but G8 is more comfortable to use.

    • Backbone, when it goes on sale :)

    • Backbone is the best, I tried Kishi before and had it returned straight away.

I tried the Kishi on SNES emulator the controller was having 1s respond delay when I pressed any button.

So I've owned the v1 and let me say that its not made to last. I had a problem with the ribbon cables that spanned the stretchable back. Hopefully this version has worked out the kinks but I personally wouldn't risk the purchase. Since then I have moved to the Gamesir X2 which has been working for over a year now with no issues. It also works great with my Fold 4 unfolded which not all controllers like this can do. If I didn't have a Fold then I probably would have got the Backbone as it seems to have the best quality feel in terms of sticks and other controls. (Fold can work with a backbone but it's a bit awkward)
