The mini has been as low as $14.84.

      Prime Day is coming too

      • When is Prime Day again? I need some things there

        • +1

Always in July, usually 2nd week. This year is the 10 year anniversary so there will likely be ATL's on Amazon devices, and decent sales across the board.

  • Silly question - which one would be better for Samsung phones? I'm assuming it's deal 2?

    • +3

both are same, just down to the form factor and weight

  • Is the form factor the only difference?

    • +4

slim has torch, also lighter (210g vs 260g)

  • Thanks OP, picked up two of the slim units.

  • +1

Finally got one, thanks OP, they're hard to catch!

  • +2

got a few of these and can't complain given the price…

Am waiting for a sale on the 65W 20000mAh model…

  • +9

    Obligatory reminder:

These are not actually slim, the photos are deceptive.

Look at the actual measurements. The 'slim' one is almost like 2 small smartphones stuck together, the shorter one is about 3 phones thick.

That's fine for some use cases, but I prefer one of the many 5000mah banks that are ACTUALLY slim. Like around 6mm. 5000 is a full charge or two for most phones anyway.

If I need to charge multiple big devices, I use a big 20000mah chonker instead.

    • +1

      Any particular recommendations for this?

      • +2

        I use this one:

        Auskang Portable Charger 5000mAh… https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B093GKX5Z1

Looks like it's $25 at the moment, but deals come and go if you're not in a hurry.

Under 7mm, built in cable is handy.

There are other very slim ones around, though, I almost bought a cool R2D2 one for about ten bucks more

        • How is the charging speed on that?

          • @BlueJay87: Never timed from 0 to 100 sorry.

Hotel USB port this morning took about 2 hours, maybe? I usually only ever recharge it overnight.

          • +1

            @BlueJay87: It's 5V 2.1 amp - so about 10W.

          • +1

@BlueJay87: I ended up testing one out of interest. It actually only does 7.5W. (5V 1.5A)

        • +1

This was $20 when I looked so I grabbed one out of interest.

Build quality is nice and very slim. Rated for 10.5W but only outputs 7.5W before cutting out.

I get 85% of the rated capacity at 5V 7.5W. Which is below average for that output wattage but reasonable for the size and capacity.

I'd expect it to add around 3750 mAh to a phones battery.

It's a reasonable power bank for $20 if you need ultra slim and don't mine needing 2.5 hours to charge. But I wouldn't pay more than that vs buying something like the INIU B6.

    • +2

Absolutely agree, and am not buying now bc I was only really buying because of the deceptively small pictures.

However that being said, my phone is 5000mAh, my last was 5500, and I haven't had anything under 4.5k outside of novelty or dumb phones in years.

    • Pretty disingenuous comment

This is double the capacity of a 5000mah battery, and so it would be double the thickness at 1.5cm. Pretty simple.

Personally I don't see the point of having that absolute thin powerbank only to then have less capacity. You're going to chuck it in your bag or jacket pocket anyway. It won't even be in your mind. I also wouldn't want my powerbanks to be too thin so they won't suffer catastrophic failure from bumps igniting them.

    • +3

Agreed- the photos are extremely deceptive. I just got the 'slim' one and it's chunkier and a lot heavier than my phone.

For just topping up a phone during a long day away from power points, a lower capacity powerbank would be much more practical. I don't need to charge the same phone over and over again for multiple days running.

I bought it on the last deal for my kid, and it'll never be used. It adds to much weight to an already overloaded school bag. It's also not useful for the parents- we are either near power points or car chargers.

    • +3

Confusingly, the dimensions for the INIU B6 (the slim model) are for the box not the power bank itself. Mine measures at 13.6 x 7 x 1.5cm. The 210 gram weight is accurate though.

So not tiny, but relatively compact. It's a bit thicker than a Pixel 7 Pro in a case, but not as wide and a decent amount shorter.

The most important feature compared to slimmer power banks is that it does PD spec 20W charging. That makes a big difference compared to the ~10W from that very slim 5,000mAh power bank.

The other thing is a 5,000mAh power bank won't give most phones a full charge, and definitely not more than one. It's basically a mobile phone battery itself, and you get power losses in the power bank battery and voltage conversion circuitry, the connectors and cables, and the phone charging circuitry and battery, and of course the power use from the phone itself if on. The exact amount of losses depends on a lot of things (including charge speed, but generally speaking you can expect 70% to 80% of the power bank capacity to make it and actually charge the phone battery.

With a 5,000 mAh battery, it should just give a smaller battery capacity iPhone a full charge (phone off) or a partial charge (0% up to somewhere between 60% to 80%) for many Android phones.

  • already have two of this specific model and a few others, yet I am still tempted by this deal.

    • +1

Which model do you prefer to use more?

  • This power banks keeps getting cuter

  • +2

Is this a good brand that actually holds its advertised capacity?

  • +2

Bought these, but found the Foldable USB-C Connector types way more useful, see https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C6XK77HJ/
since you can still hold your phone the same way, NO CABLES to lug around, and they take up much smaller footprint in my pocket.

Good for times when you want an emergency charge or extra capacity near the end of the day.

    • I bought the USB folded one, its handy.. and if you don’t like cables then get a magsafe powerbank so no need to hold two separate things but it gets bulky and slow charge.

    • +1

Type c wasn't designed to hold load like that, nice way of destroying your port. Just stick to magsafe banks

Just get a 45/65w in the smallest size possible. Leave your phone alone for 5mins and you got a good 15% already

      • agreed. Best to just go magsafe compatible ones - although they charge slower.

  • +3

Looks like the 30% voucher has been removed on the Mini. Only $5 off now

  • I nearly collected all the INIU powerbank sizes now LOL
the quality are great btw, highly recommended

  • Is this better than the now expensive ROMOSS batteries?

  • Mini back to $29.99 .

  • +1

    got mine today, works well.
After testing it, first thing i did was say to my partner "tonight i want to be…." points at brand name

    Worth the $18

    • Stealing this! Also received mine. It's got a nice tactile feel to it and there is a pull out bit to hold your phone upright. Well worth $18. Now to place it in a drawer with my other OzB acquired power banks….
