is my wife considered a friend?

    • +1

That depends on what your wife thinks

    • +6

      She's a friend with benefits

      • +1

What type of benefits? Netflix family account? Or ,australian citizen?

        • more Disney+ family account.
Netflix family account require higher type of commitments…

      • +1

        Can confirm this

    • +1

      Yes she's very friendly.

      • Can confirm

      • I can second this

Is anyone ever able to get one of these packages to work? Everytime I click through the options and try it just says unavailable. Seems more like a bait and switch scammy thing to me.

    • +3

Same here. I'd rather not waste my time working out which date configuration will actually display the price listed.

      • +5

Exactly this. I remember having the same frustration last time they did something like this. There should just be a button that you click that says - take me to available dates and you decide whether or not they suit. Clicking through ten buttons to try and find if one set of dates is available is a joke and like you said just a waste of time.

        • Seems like they do this on purpose so the "deal" will last "longer"

Make it hard to figure out all packages are oos, keep people on the site for longer, and keep the promo "valid" for longer, more people sharing, more traffic.

    • There are limited flights depending on where you are flying from - best way to do it is to select your flying from location but leave the travelling to as default, and then scroll down to see the packages with prices.

      • +2

Yeah I did that. And then when you go to the dates it says - UNAVAILABLE.

  • Dates are just too far away to commit

Going anywhere in Summer, which is when this deal is, seems hell to me. 40+ degrees daily.

Hell yeah OP. Got a few days in the Gold Coast at the end of Jan with the missus and baby for juuuust under 600 from Avalon.

Spoke to their chat thing, his birthday is the 17th and he'll be two then, I said the stupid website counter locked into the 31st being his birthday and won't let me change it, they said don't worry and I'll be right. You better believe I screencap'd it. Point being, (profanity) yeah, I'll take your 2 people for 600 deal and raise you 1 baby.

    Cheers dude!

That's awesome, miss the days when my baby flied for free

      • I'm very stoked to get one last under 2 trip out of him!

      • -8

"flied"? lol. the english standards gone to trash since mass migration.

        • +1

ah I didn't think too much when I was typing. Yes English is not my first language so I make these mistakes sometimes, sorry if you are offended by it.

          • -1

@cowboydev: I find it hilarious that people who barely speak english as their only language will criticise people who speak it as their second or third (or more) language .

@altomic: He's also posted a comment saying that we'll all need to learn Hindi soon in Australia, hmm looks like he's just hating all immigrants though his location is set to Taiwan. Interesting people on the internet!

    • That's awesome! Yeah odds are they won't even check, but good to have a capture.

      • I always wondered how an airline would even check if an infant was over 2…not like we carry around ID for our children except when travelling overseas (except for a Medicare card which doesn't disclose date of birth).

        • From Jetstar website
Proof of age, such as a birth certificate or passport, may be required for infants under 2 years. If you don’t provide an acceptable form of identification for the infant upon request at check-in, your infant may not be allowed to travel.

If you’re travelling on an international flight, your infant or child always requires a passport.

          • @cowboydev: I wonder how many parents seriously carry their kid's birth certificate around (not that that would be proof anyway, because it doesn't have a photo…)

            • +1

@xyron: Never! But in this case if the airline website states it may be required (I have seen kids that look like they are 3 years old when they are still under 2) then I would make sure to bring a digital copy.

Having said that I have only travelled overseas when my baby was under 2 so I have always had her passport.

              • @cowboydev: Yes, fair enough. our bub just turned 1 and we have just applied for her passport but certainly won't be taking it with us when only travelling domestically (which is all we have done so far - trips back to Adelaide from Melbourne - every one of them a painful experience despite very accommodating flight staff on Virgin).

Really don't understand how parents manage to travel with infants on long flights!

                • @xyron: Depends on the baby really, domestic flight usually gives parents an idea. We were brave and took her on a 9 hours flights and luckily she slept almost the entire flight, babies need like 15 hours of sleep so if they can sleep in the bassinet or on your lap then you're good.

On the other hand, if they can't sleep at all……….then you're screwed!

  • is my dog considered a friend?

    • +3

      No it's your best friend

  • Just says unavailable in the end no matter what options I try. Ugh what a waste of time.

    • +1

When you click on check availability, it displays the travel date range on the top, eg, SyD to GC
      Travel between 21 Jan 2025 - 27 Mar 2025, 29 Apr 2025 - 29 May 2025

Dates are different for all locations mostly Jan 25 onwards.

  • Are any of these even good? Jetstar flights are generally pretty cheap.

Feels cheaper to book without this deal and seek your accomodation.

    • I just tested a deal from Melbourne to the Gold Coast and found that the price was similar to booking separately.

  • Looks like a great deal - 4 nights in Osaka, breakfast included, $1350 from Sydney

  • "Unavailable"

is this a game of 'chance' ?? Trying to find anything (plus then having to deal with NoStar with their flights. You could spend hours just finding anything ….. but do i really want to deal with this airline ??
