Bellarine VIC mid-week in mid-Feb still peak season?

This one's for VIC OzB'ers.

I need to book one more night for our GOR trip in Feb and I'd like it to be in Queenscliff, or thereabouts.

Many of the last-minute booking sites do not list a date that far in the future. I could go direct to the B&B or motel's site but then I would pay rack rate. I've noticed that there are bargains to be had between now and Christmas so I wondered if there would also be bargains in mid-week mid-Feb.

So my question is whether mid-Feb is still peak season and I should pay rack rate, or I should wait expecting that cheaper rates will eventually show up on the last-minute booking sites.

Thanks!

  • Ok to answer my own question. Many of the rooms have now been appeared on Wotif but the date I wanted at a particular B+B is booked out (and would probably have been even if I had contacted the B+B directly). So I did some Internet searching and picked another place. Looks like there is a fair amount of tourist activity in that part of VIC in February.
