I had been looking at an Inverter split system for a while, this is a good price. also you get $75 Good Guys virtual credit when you buy this.
Effective cost works out to be $602
NOTE: Installation not included in price.

Don't forget installation for these is about $750 -> $1k
I found that it starts at $450 for a very simple installation, but can certainly climb a lot depending on the installer and the situation.
Do you know if an isolating switch is necessary to install a split type A/C?
I didn't know Ned Kelly had risen from the grave and become an A/C installer. :D
I guess it probably involves a gas fitter (to charge the unit) as well as a sparky. Good to know though - I wasn't aware it was so expensive!
It will be most expensive when you have a run a new power cable from your switch box and/or when the indoor unit is fitted too far away from the Outdoor unit. Generally starts at around $500
I have a kelvinator split system and it is extremely loud inside and very annoying. I bought it last year, I don't know if this is the same model but after my experience and the experience of other customers that reviewed them I will not go near them again.
