There really isn't a going price. It's totally objective based on the plant genre and subclass, size and quality.
$5 for a small Java Fern is low average. Most aquariums will sell a single stem java for about $5-$15

It's very common for private fish keepers to sell off-cuts of their plants after a trimming, trying a make back a few $. Usual compromise for the varying quality of plant and hassle of going to private property vs. ordering from an established store.
As Kevorulez said basicallly. If your neighbor gives you brownies for free, by all means grab them its a good deal, but it doesnt mean a $5 home cooked brownie is a bad deal.
But asside from that, for a single piece it probably costs you more in the end including your time than ordering online and having it show up without a hastle here. Thats the service we offer basically.
Is delivery still $3.99 if ordering multiple? Also do these grow in gravel?
Java ferns will grow in just about anything as long as the water has enough nutrients.
They don't use the roots to absorb, they use the nutrients in the water column.
Many people attach to rocks, driftwood or just tuck it into a gap.
They don't need much light and are super easy to grow. The ultimate beginner plant :)
Yup! All delivery is flat. The way we have it setup i think it will increase at 10, but at that point you may as well get tracking and faster postage.
Good price compared to the stores here in Melbourne…even with postage!
