Pulled trigger on the last deal - this was after reading reviews in whirlpool and Karl (from Ausbed's) comment from sometime ago. Have to say it is not as firm as I liked, definitely a medium firm feel for me personally. I'm also not a fan of the ribbed grooves on the mattress. None of these are deal breakers and I would most likely be keeping mine, but just thought to post my two cents.

Ribbed grooves are usually for the women :)

    • I also found the grooves weird after coming from a Sleeping Duck. I think I’m used to it now though.

      • Better or worse mattress than sleeping duck?

        • I like both of them. Quite similar but the SR is definitely more of a medium feel than SD (at least with my config). I don’t think you could go wrong choosing either

      • Actually keen on the SD feedback as well.

Have you looked at Emma Sleep? Highly recommend for anyone with shoulder or back pain. It helped my wife and I for what it matters.

          • @Akamrbungle: Thanks.
Yeh. Have been looking at all the big players in these online ones. SD and Emma are the current 2 in my consideration

Had a SD since 2017 and it’s amazing. I’ve never had an issue with the firmness I like it how it is, but you can call them and get the firmness changed as part of the purchase after care

  • I need extra firm mattress.

    • Buy one then. I got a queen size from them a few days ago and lasted one night, woke up in so much pain because it just had no give at all. Also not a fan of the lack of padding around the sides, feeling the springs poking out isn't particularly pleasant.

  • Loved ours for ages but maybe it’s time for a new frame or I’m just getting old but sometimes wake up pretty sore.

    • How many years is 'ages'?

      • Damn thought it was way earlier but it was only early 2021 lol

Man, I've got cans of food older than that :)

Haven't kept track of prices but I feel like these mattresses are always on sale. Bought a king back in 2020 for $1,299.

Having said that, this has easily been the most comfortable mattress I've used (rotated through a couple and this is the best). The pocket springs are excellent for not noticing when your partner rolls over in the middle of the night.

I returned my one within the 100 day return period. Found mine too soft for a firm mattress and felt unbearably hot at times.

Purchased a decent spring mattress instead and haven’t looked back.

    • What mattress you bought to replace SR?

    • This is spring mattress isn't it

  • Bought the kids mattress for our toddler for his first bed a week and a bit ago. We needed something we too can lie on when settling or needing to lie in his bed with him and it feels amazing so far, very impressed

  • Does Ozb have any recommendations for extra firm or ultra firm king mattresses? I have been using zzz atelier since last 4 years and though it served well (10/10 on firmness which I love) it has sagged a lot and it is really frustrating. Any leads please?
