Kinda overpriced when compared to Nomad.

    • +1

Not really, even though im not going with them after reading reviews, $35 AUD for 15 days unlimited compared to Nomad's $125 USD 30 day 50GB (Nomad dont do a 15 day 50GB)

Edit: I just noticed Lemon's plan gives you 600mb at normal speed each day, after that it drops to 125kbps, what the……. I would blow 600mb just twerking on the gram in 3 minutes lol

      • To where?

Should have specified I was looking at China.

        • Hi, our China SIM and eSIM products feature direct access to apps blocked in China, such as Google, Facebook, etc., without the need for a VPN. This is a capability that no other product can provide. One of our bestsellers.

TikTok SIM Cards for TikTok Region Switching

You're charging $30 for no-service sim cards just so people can set the MCC/MNC on their phones?

That's a uhh, interesting product… I wonder how many people actually purchase those. (Although if I really wanted to peruse TikTok, I'd probably just use a spare phone and hook TelephonyManager to report combination I wanted?)

Do many people actually purchase these?

    • Hi, this TikTok SIM product is specifically designed for users looking to change TK regions. Standard SIM cards from any country, including the target region, may not work. TikTok app reads a unique code on the SIM to identify the region, and our technology supports region switch. As said the SIM does not include any service and must connect to Wi-Fi to access data. TikTok for the USA is the most popular one.

      • explains a fair bit - I've been seeing a fair few of these come up across eBay

I thought I’d share my negative experience with Lemon Mobile with my OzBargain family.

I purchased two SIMs from Lemon Mobile for use in Indonesia. The ordering and shipping experience was good.

However, upon arrival to Bali and despite following all the instructions, they just would not work. Subsequently had to purchase local SIMs at the airport which worked straight away.

I emailed Lemon Mobile once the SIMs were found not to work and it took until three emails in total and 9 days later to get a response from the team who state they will investigate. Had I waited for a response, I’d still be at the airport in Bali (perhaps not too bad of a thing)!

This is just a word of warning for those considering purchasing from Lemon Mobile. There are other comments from their most recent deal post stating similar experiences https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/845903

    YMMV.

    • Dear customer, our apologies for the unsatisfactory experience you've had. Our customer service team will be in touch to address the issue.

      • Hi Lemon Mobile, I was contacted via email today and the team are investigating.

Hi, apologies again for the inconvenience. Will ask the team to issue a full refund for you. You should hear from our customer service team shortly.
          Regards, Mike

          • @lemon mobile: Thanks Mike, looks like a refund has been initiated. It’s the first time I’ve bought a SIM this way for use overseas and would have been great if it worked, especially not requiring identification and being able to hit the ground running. Might go back to getting a local SIM going forward though.

It is called Lemon for a reason

      • Ooof they walked into that one. :|

  • @brian77 Thanks for the feedback, i nearly pulled the trigger on 6 of these for our trip. Was it easier to just purchase local sims over there?

    • Local sims are always better than roaming. Many countries throttle roaming speed.

      • And just grab them at the airport when landing?

        • Exactly that.

When we went to Singapore, I ordered SIMs via Klook and chose a collection point at the airport such that upon landing, I showed my order confirmation at the collection point and the local SIMs were given.

          This may be another option.

    • No worries. At Denpasar Airport, especially once leaving immigration and getting to the ‘other side’ of the airport, there were multiple telecom businesses selling SIM cards. We got 30-day data-only SIMs (25GB from memory) for about 250K (~$25 AUD). The customer service people installed the SIMs for us, did the relevant ID check and made sure the SIMs worked before we left. A very good experience. Took only a few minutes per SIM.

Yeah this is crazy expensive. It’s much cheaper to just get a sim in America. I’m not sure what markup you’re putting on these, but it seems obscene. Especially the eSIM products.

    • Or use mobimatter, pretty great value
