It's been a while since this soundbar dropped in price. Not the historical low but guess good enough value if you are in the market for one.

Same price at both Amazon and HarveyN, could price match with JB or TGG.

  • Supports HDMI-eARC, Dolby Atmos, AirPlay2. Not bad!
    Can't expect 2023 prices in 2024, can't we?

    • how much was in 2023 ? damn 385 then ofc i have to wait to get into 380ish

      • Just click the "related products" on the sidebar.
        It was almost $100 cheaper.

      • I paid $580 from JB please do not kick me off ozb. That was long before the mysterious midnight BOSE SALE on Amazon which eventually pulled this proud brand into the pool.

    Not the historical low

Almost impossible to beat or at least the same as historical low for Bose on Amazon 😂

    • Never say impossible this is ozb look at muzeeb monitor ordeal

Don't buy if you have a Samsung tv… Absolutely horrible user experience. I've given up on mine and it just sits there not even getting turned on… Mod: Private selling removed.

    • +1

What issues you are experiencing using this with Samsung TV. I have no issues using it with my 8 year old smart TV along with the base module and surround speakers.

    • Try firmware updates. I dont think update automatically even if it's set to automatic.

      • +2

Done all the updates. I've had it for about a year and just given up on it now.

It does dumb things like turns the tv back on after you've turned it off, no matter which HDMI cec setting you have it on… Either that or the sound just doesn't come through till you turn it into Bluetooth then back onto HDMI. Just frustrating af to use.

Don't know if it's Bose or Samsung not following the cec standard, but yeah it's a fairly new 2020~ Samsung smart tv.

Have you tried using a better quality HDMI cable? I was sceptical seeing this suggestion on reddit but since I swapped to the cable that came with my ps5 I haven’t had any issues with the soundbar turning on and off with my TV (lg c1)

        • +1

I had similar issues with a 2018 Samsung smart TV and my Bose soundbar 900. Ended up disabling CEC, connecting via optical rather than HDMI ARC and training my Apple TV remote manually to control the sound bar volume.

        • +2

I've had a terrible experience with my Sony TV (XR-55X90L) as well. Regularly won't start with CEC (have tried the various CEC options in the companion app). Recently it has also started to have a crackling/popping sound if it is on for a longer period of time and in/out of different streaming apps. Have also tried various HDMI cables, and all the other suggestions I've found on forums etc. and firmware is up to date.

Would definitely not buy this again and would also recommend people to steer clear. Was very disappointed in this Bose product.

Having issues connecting it to my LG C2 as well..

      • +1

Same but mine is LG C1. Some of the issues I've noted so far:

        1) No sound from TV if you have previously played music via Spotify or Chromecast. Have to power cycle the soundbar for it to work again.
        2) TrueHD audio doesn't work. Tried a few different HDMI cables but still can't get it to work.
        3) Chomecast support is pretty crap. Jellyfin can see it but no music will play when clicked. I have a couple of other chromecast devices (Google Nest Audio and Nest Hub) on the same network and they work flawlessly).

I would have returned it if I knew about the above issues in the first week of ownership.

    • Thanks. Dad's looking for one, but has a Samsung TV

Have one and this fits PERFECTLY between the feet of LG 42" OLEDs. Less than 10mm gap combined on either side.

      • For sure the LG 42 benefits from this sound over the built-in TV speakers. If you use your 42 a fair bit, especially gaming, then improving the sound experience is always worth it. It's just so satisfying how it just fits between the feet.

Note: the height of the bar is a few mm above the bottom bezel of the TV, but does not does block any on-screen picture ever, unless you eyes is at or below the soundbar height.

  • Is a two year old model release date okay for this technological age? It's Bluetooth is 4.2 and we're now at 5.2. It's a bargain anyway right? but you're prob gonna come across new updates being phased out, or older assistant models.. some trade off and depends what you want.

      Bluetooth version meaningless

      • in what sense? The sound quality is better Mbps is 2x improved. Also handy if you want smart appliances integrated into your smart system.

  • Yeah it's a good deal.

  • +2

Sounds like a 477 dollar headache. Don't buy sound equipment like this when people are having CEC, eARC or Wifi problems. At least have your RMA on a hair trigger. It can drive you mental having to research and troubleshoot.

    • +1

Could you not use Toslink optical instead to avoid that issue?. I use optical audio on my Bose TV Speaker soundbar. Works a treat.

  • +1

After trying the bose soundbar 900 I can say the sound was OK but not worth the money. So this one will be even worse.
I would pick the Samsung soundbar instead that is much better ranked regardless of the price

    This or the samsung q700c?

    • I was recently tossing this up and went q700c. My decision was based on supporting more formats, comes with a wireless sub included and can easily add the swa-9500s as rear speakers.

      • +1

Thanks! Decided to go with the Q700c too, just ordered it.

  • looking at this deal, it only has the soundbar…do you need to buy the subwoofer??

    • Yes it's only the soundbar. Subwoofer for it is an extra purchase. It's called the Bose Bass Module 500 however it's $594.15 to purchase. So all up the Soundbar 600 + Bass Module 500 comes to an expensive purchase.

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Bose-Bass-Module-500-Black/dp/B07G…

Says it's compatible with the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 on the Bose web site.

      Compatibility

Product availability may vary by country.

The Bose Bass Module 500 is compatible with:

      Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar

      Bose Smart Soundbar 600

      Bose Smart Soundbar 900

      Bose Smart Soundbar 300

      Bose TV Speaker

Guys if you are going to use optical or HDMI make sure you are ok with the inability to do the HD audio codecs . As optical can only do the lossy codecs not the lossless codecs.

  • +1

While excellent price, don’t buy it. It’s nothing but headache to sync with your tv. In my case it’s LG C6.
I’ll sell mine off and never want to deal with it again!

My wife rang The Good Guys this morning for a price beat and we managed to bring the price down to $460.
