I'm confused which will be the better time to buy. Are there product types and companies that will drop their price lower after EOFY sale? Department stores, clothing, Apple, Samsung, home appliances, etc?

Amazon Prime day is in July. So there is that too.
From my understanding, it's usually before, for the following reasons:
- They want to run down their stock levels, so they have less stock to count when doing end of year stock take.
- A last push to boost sales figures, or to reach targets for the ending financial year.
No real reason to do sales after EOFY, except maybe to buck the trend and do something different to everyone else.
I usually wait for sales after EOFY as I need to apportion the days I am using the devices for tax purposes.
Like, a new smart phone?
Best time to buy smart phones or tech is after a new model is released, everyone will try to clear out the "older" models.
Now would prob be the time to jump unless it’s a seasonal item you’re after.
