I genuinely dont understand how companies and prices like that remain during a 'cost of living crisis'.

If $15 for 12 doughnuts is looking like a bargain, honestly, shop around.

    • -7

It’s a cost of living crisis for the lower class

      • +7

In all seriousness, I never considered doughnuts to be a high class food.

These things are literally 'fast food' in a lot of places.

        • I agree, it's ridiculous man

    • +1

Small supermarket cake for like $10? Some for $5 and some for $20

      12 doughnuts for $15?

If you treat KK like a huge treat then it's not horrible.

      • +2

Yeah this is really only if you specifically idolise KK's products, which many do. Personally I can take or leave them, but if I'm gonna take them then I'll opt for $1.25 a throw.

As someone who doesn't buy doughnuts (but does eat plenty of other junk food) - is $15 for 12 actually a good deal?

    • +3

Im not convinced, others are though.

I ask the local supermarket what time they cook the doughnuts, which gets you a hot 'straight out of the oil' dozen for $3.50.

      • +1

yes, I get the Woolies ones as I prefer them to Coles, freeze them straight away and just microwave for 30s when I take one out

      • +4

Where can you get a dozen glazed doughnuts for 3.5? That's insane value

        • Yeah even Woolies costs that for half a dozen and they're rubbish. Walker's is about as expensive as KK and never does deals. Maybe some small local joint?

    • +2

      nope

    • +1

used to be cheaper deal , recently more expensive

    • +1

Get them straight from factory made. They are good.

After a while they go stale pretty fast.

    • For Krispy Kreme donuts in Australia, yeah. A dozen original glazed is like 30 aud in the US/UK/Japan/Singapore but only 10 aud in Indonesia/Philippines.

Donuts prices can vary a lot, depending on the sizes, fillings, toppings, availability, locations. Excluding supermarket donuts, I expect to pay around 80c to $4 per piece globally, give or take. Though I feel anything above $2.50 per piece is getting on the pricier side, for instance mochi donuts is like $4 each here. KK is not considered cheap either.

In-store 4 for $5, so you can just go to the store to get 12 for $15 only today.

  • Shame never any deals in South Australia!

  • +3

I've only once made an online C&C at Krispy Kreme and never again even to save a few dollars. The confirmation email states

    • PICK UP orders will be sent to your chosen store on your selected date

I had to pick them up at night and sure enough there was a prepacked box in a special area and they definitely tasted like day old doughnuts that had been sitting around. Just pay the extra few dollars for some fresh ones that are picked right off the conveyor belt. Not even to mention you can't book a pickup on the day and if you don't pick up the day you've booked then

    • DONT FORGET TO COLLECT! As your doughnuts are MADE-TO-ORDER, we are unable to rebook, or refund orders that are not collected.

May as well start posting deals for stale bread

    • -1

Why not just order 5 minutes before pickup

      • +7

        Because you can't

Krispy Kreme do not offer a same day order and collect-in-store service. Order must be placed by 5pm one business day prior to the collection date.

You get stale doughnuts from god knows where

Your order will be pre-produced, and pre-packed from our central production location on your collection date, after which it will be sent to the Krispy Kreme Store of your choosing, on the commitment date selected by you at check out.

Willing to bet all online orders use old donuts that they didn't sell the day before….

    • Yep yesterday was promo $5 for 4 donuts, then clear out any excess today via online.
