    I love free cage eggs.

      I prefer cage-free eggs.

      • Love it too! I will talk to my boss for next campaign!

      Great!

Asking for a tip at checkout?

Forced surcharge? No-surcharge option? Component pricing?

5% surcharge with Afterpay even they don't allow it?

  • +1

What crime did the eggs commit for them to be caged in the first place?

And why are we freeing them? Based on what

  • +10

Lovely make animals suffer for free - I'd rather pay and have free range

      Neg away morons, I’m right

      • +1

I think you get negs because caged chooks are caged and dont go outside, free range can. The link you provided still makes it look better for free range (stay inside at night etc).

        • -2

Cool story - show me where I said anything about cage eggs, instead of directly referencing “free range” eggs

I wouldn't care how poor I am there is no way I would buy Cage Eggs. People who support these companies have no conscience or morality and are pure monsters.

    • what if the eggs labeled 'free range' were just cage eggs, only the label was swapped? would you still buy the cage eggs with the more expensive label?
because thats whats happening with most egg producers. not all. but most.

I did not know we could neg posts for ethical reasons

    • -5

I don't know who negged you, but here is a plus.

You have a valid point. Some ozbargainers will neg comments and deals for no reason, not helpful to the OzB community, but who is going to police it? 🤷🏻‍♂️

      • There are mods and rules but applied randomly.

        • Not sure if Mods check everyone who negs a deal though

          • @dangerdanger: They do but on this case they agree with negs so it's allowed. Try tomorrow to neg another post for any reason not strictly related to best price and see yourself

    • Maybe they don't think it's a deal.

  • Cruelty isn’t a bargain.

  • +1

Why all the negs? Just opt out of receiving the caged eggs and only get $10 off your first order > $59

Having worked on many farms, I have first hand experience to the deception that takes place regarding things like "free range" and "organic" etc. 99% its just fluff, a gimmick, marketing tools to make you feel good and commit to purchase.

Ive seen a company thats its primary egg farm (caged eggs) transfers its eggs to a "distributor" who does some label switcheroo, then on-sells it to an "approved free range farm" (also owned by same company) to artificially inflate the prices.

and organic veggies are not as organic as you may think. 99% of the veggies you find in the supermarket are descendants of GMO veggies, and most producers ive met still use chemical sprays, and just put on an elaborate show and dance and hide all the evidence when the regulators come around which rarely happens anyway.

so dont believe everything you read. business is business and people never change. words like corruption, lies, deception, misdirection exist for a reason, these behaviours exist in real life and not just the movies and is very prevalent anywhere money is involved and margins are tight.

    • Considering the chickens i have owned, they are somewhat a level of intelligence or pattern memory in the least.

So when they crossed an invisible/fence line in the yard they were punished and rewarded staying in the good area.

Then i was able to let my hens out every day and never left the 10 sq meters in my un-fenced yard unattended.
the new hens seemed to learn or copy the existing ones continuing this.

The primary method of free range chicken is producers have acres of land but create a level of lesson that the hens choose to want to stay in the safety of the barn. so they 'choose' to live in a high density barn. (choose in the derogatory sense we choose amputation vs cancer) and I believe this theory as plausible

The tours in Alaska shared the trick that they breed millions eggs in tanks breed juveniles release them into the stream and capture them as they exit the facility stream into the bay. 'Ocean Caught ' and 'Wild Caught' labels apply

    Free, Cage eggs?

  • What on earth happened to ebest? They changed their account system and I lost all my order history.

    @eBest

I had an order partially refunded over a month ago but I have yet to receive my money. With the account update I can’t find my old order anymore.

    • I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your refund. Could you please check your messages? I've sent you a message to get more details and assist you further.

      Thank you for your patience.

  • An average of nearly 2000 orders/day dispatched for 3 years.

You must have a very efficient supply chain going there.
