Hey OzBargainHunters
I'm looking for a good value video camera, just for doing things like recording myself doing gadget reviews on YouTube and the occasional home movie of the kids. Nothing too fancy, but still reliable with half decent image quality so it looks semi-professional and can go up to 1080 on youtube.
Any ideas? I'm great at knowing whats a good deal when it comes to computers and laptops, but when it comes to camera, video recorders and optics in general i got no idea. Maybe you can also explain some of the terminology. I know all about megapixels, framerates and resolution, but the rest, not so much; like whats a good optical / digital zoom? Hope you can help :)
Thanks,
Riczter
It might not be exactly what you're after but most DSLRs will record in 1080p now. They're quite a bit more expensive than a base model video camera, but they generally do a much better job due to how much bigger and better their sensors are than cheap video cameras, they have a lot more uses as well.
