Creative Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 (USB-C DAC) $29.65 Delivered @ Creative AU

170
MIDYEAR10

Portable Plug-and-play Hi-res USB DAC with Auto Mute and Two-way Noise Cancellation via SmartComms Kit for Conference Calls. Positive reviews from previous posts.

$32.95 minus the 'MIDYEAR10' code brings it down to $29.65 (credit to Svenlem for finding this). Normal price is $44.95.

Note: Contrary to the store's statement about free shipping on orders $59 and above, once the item has been added to the cart, the 'Shipping Charge' field will display 'FREE'.

Note 2: I used a card with no international transaction fees to pay for this. You may want to do the same.

You can also add the MIDYEAR10 code for a further 10% off. That takes the Play4! down to $29.65. I can confirm the absence of shipping fees, also the fact this works well with iPads with USB C. The Sound BlasterX G1 is also down to $40.45 with this code. I also paid with Paypal and no int fees, its an AU site and pricing is in AUD.

I'll add the code to the post - thanks!

UPDATE: Was able to cancel my original order using this link (automated cancellation) and then placed a new order with the discount code.

  • Can these power decent headphones, or really just a 3.5mm jack adapter?

    • +2

      only a 3.5mm jack, Supported Headphone Impedance: 16–150Ω, 24-bit / 192 kHz 110 dB

      • +1

It still has a decent DAC, and hopefully that is good.

  • not sure how it goes with Macbook.
My Windows computer admin rights are locked by my company, so I am unable to use their software at all.

    • No Mac software available yet for this according to the page (no app for Android or iOS either).

      • +2

I am using it with an iPad 10 with no issues, creative software not required. Creative site shows it supports Win, MacOS, Ps4/5, Switch, Android and iPads. Though only Win gets the creative app and the consoles don't get the full audio spec.

  • Anyone have this or something like this can comment what it's useful for?

Received mine today - instantly noticed the difference in sound quality from my Sennheiser HD25 vs plugging it directly into my work laptop via the 3.5mm jack.
