You'll need an M chip if you want on-device Apple Intelligence, otherwise there will be a slight lag as it'll have to connect to Apple servers for each request.
Yeah it is a good deal. It is 425 in costco but that requires membership.
Consider pre-owned Air 5th Gen with M1 chip: street price $600
