Are the recording easy to review or search a particular time?
Do you have to pay subscription?

Yes, with an app on the phone.
No, no pay subscription required, this model takes sd cards.

  • Is the only difference between them the colour?

  • Anybody was able to use its PTZ under Blue Iris? Mine crashes when I pan it left or right once or twice and camera reboots.

  • You should note that the recent firmware breaks Home Assistant connectivity (HACS Tapo Control), if that's a selling point for you like it was for me 😢

    • Is that just for the camera, or anything using a Tapo hub?

      • Not sure, the c210 will be my first and last Tapo product

    • Damn that's disappointing. I have looked into Home Assistant because I have a ras pi sitting around, I wonder if they'll patch that?

In the forum's the plugin developer said they'd been in contact with TP-Link, who had a new API "in the works" but I can't imagine any reason for shutting down all the old features unless they intend to do a rug pull and start charging for features etc

    • I use all of my cameras in HA through blue iris. I have no issue with the stream but ptz is making the camera crash and reboot.
My camera is on the latest fw (1.3.11) and has no internet connectivity. I can see tapo-control is working alright on HA, except the ptz.
