Yay!!! Cottesloe HN sucks. They tried to screw me. Just goes "to show that you should get a refund not give them a chance to fix it.
This is the downside of living in a country town. Generally there is one "tech" store, so if you want something right now, then you have to deal with these shops.
good on them for clamping down on dodgy shenanigans
Misleading, it's not "Harvey Norman" per se, it's franchise owners who are incorporated under separate legal entities but using the franchisee name of "Harvey Norman" that have been doing damage.
except both titles said "Harvey Norman franchisee", which is pretty clear imo.
Anyway, the company is still ultimately responsible for their franchises.
retailer has right sent product a way first. not just walk in and get a instant replacement or money back. work dicksmith for many year i found people yell at you if u told them you going to sent there tv away.
Nickey: wrong. Under Australian consumer law a customer is entitled to their choice of return, repair, replacement, or compensatory payment for products suffering a major failure. Advising customers otherwise is misleading conduct under Australian consumer law, which is likely what these franchisees are being fined for. (ACL only happened a year or so ago, so may not have applied when you worked retail…)
Agreed, although I don't know how long the consumer has a right to demand a refund. If you are 2.5 years into a 3 year warranty? Or is it pretty much more like the first 90 days or so?
Karma's a bitch!
