The Akatsuki Gundam from "Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny," equipped with the Oowashi Pack, is plated in three types of gold and released as an RG (Real Grade) model kit by Bandai!

The multi-faceted shape of the Gundam makes the entire body shine, and the angle of light reflection is adjusted to express the glittering coating of the Yata no Kagami. The nose, hatch, beam cannon, and more of the Oowashi Pack can be deployed; both wings can also move flexibly.

This kit uses some of the frame parts of the RG Strike Gundam to achieve a high level of action. The shoulders have a pull-out mechanism to expand their range of motion, and the hip joints can also be opened widely for bold poses.

A swing gimmick is equipped to the torso, and a sliding gimmick is on the arm and leg armor to allow for easy movement. The verniers on top of the shoulders and on the sides of the legs are also movable. Decals are included for its markings.

This item will be released on 18 April 2025.

    Yeah I did, can always cancel if the reviews are not great since it uses some of the RG Strike frame.

      Wow didn't even notice they'd reuse some of the RG Strike frame parts. That kit was flimsy as hell…

    The rrp is 8800 yen ($85 Aud ish) so hopefully the preorder drops a bit in price by Dec which is japan release date.

      Have to factor 10% GST into it too. So I'd say it would bring the whole price to around 9,680 yen. So it's actually closer to A$92.

      Anw just preorder now and if it becomes cheaper, great for us! If not at least I could book a spot around as I got a feeling the RG and HG Destiny ones will be OOS very soon.

      I've noticed having been to Japan that local hobby stores are consistently selling Tamiya and Gundam kits for double the yen value.

  After building the MG Sinanju Titanium coated version I vowed to never do a special finish kit again. I don't paint my kits so tidying up the sprue nubs was an absolute pain, you had to be very careful with sanding (or spend a lot of time masking) so you don't take off the finish around the nub. I tried covering the marks with metallic colour markers but could never find the right mix to blend it in. In the end it just spoiled all the fun, even though it does look pretty cool.
