The number of better razors you could get without spending this much on gimmick bullshit

      • +8

Im downvoting a deal on a product that should not exist because its a scam.

Its essentially the usual gilette crap with an added feature no one asked for or needs.

They expect people to invest hundreds of dollars in their disposable dogshit.

So basically 3/4 of the posts on this site ^o^ You must be a busy guy!

          • +3

@ArcherVice: You are right. It's not a legit excuse to downvote. There will be someone who likes and will buy these products

            • +1

@DrScavenger: THAT SAID….look at the state of affairs on OzB with voting in general. Very common to see folks get hammered just as they say something irrefutably factual just as its an unpopular truth or goes against the mob opinion.

Is this item a 'good buy'? IMHO no, as the item itself is simply terrible.

Is it a good buy on a terrible item? Perhaps.

      • It's on Amazon Japan for $132.50 with 10 blades delivered free with Prime

i hate this product as well but this technically is a misuse of downvotes, although not like that is consistently enforced. i wish the mods would update the rules and then be more consistent about them.

      • +5

Ok ill revoke my downvote. I stand by everything said about this product and Gilette

      • +3

"I don't need or want this product so here's a downvote"

        Seems to happen pretty often.

      • Yep same. Had to upvote it because it's a good deal. But man, such a sucky product.

Run your shaver under hot water and save yourself $120?

  • +7

Unnecessary product. How about making a blade that doesn’t go blunt after a few uses?

    • -1

They exist and are a fraction of the price. Gilette even make them.

  • Jeeezzzz $299 lol

    • +1

I thought that was a typo. Anything over $50 for a cheap-looking plastic handle is taking piss. Even with whatever bullshit heating thing they've put in.

  • +1

I have used this twice over a weekend, a friend has one from a Content Creator Pack.

Its awesome, it cuts great and leaves your face feeling less abused after, its hard to explain, if you have money and you shave once a week its perfect.

    • +3

But is it the best a man can get?

    • I was curious enough to watch a video and the reviewer said it was the best shave of his life, but anything more than $60 I'll give it a miss.

    • "Shave once a week". Are you 15 years old or less?

      • +3

        I have a manicured beard. I only clean the edges.. But you slickb… You're a man's man… 12incher and all.

    Razor burn

  • +10

This is the definition of "a solution in search of a problem"

    • Especially for $300. I'm struggling to think who the target market is.

      • those that's not on ozbargain ^_^

  • +1

no idea who would buy this personally, but OP is right I couldn't see it anywhere cheaper or close to this so giving the upvote.

    • Same. The RRP is too much but this is still a deal nonetheless if someone wants this.

I've had the exfoliating bar version of it. For a multi blade razor, it's one of the better ones I've tried. I can imagine using it more if I needed frequent quick shaves.

I solve the issue by shaving while I am having shower. Hot water and steam smooths the skin :)

    • +1

I'm the same… Only way in my humble opinion

      • +1

Yep for sure, little silicon backed stick on mirror in the shower, double edge safety razor for like $50 and a hairy brush for some sweet sweet foamy lather. Perfect shave, cheap ass blades that last more than 2 shaves and no hassle cleanup. Anything else is barbaric really.

        • Just make sure you take the mirror off and put it back on periodically. I had a tooletries one in my last rental and had to remove it with one of those razor blade paint scraper things.

        • My mirror is one with air suction thing.

  • I think the vibrating feature is more important than the heating function on razors.

I shave with a 50yrs+ old Gillette Slim safety razor (amongst others) - its a testimony to capitalism, that such silly razors are now sold & by the same company. Go figure.

No vote either way for me, as if a 'heated' razor is your thing - perhaps thats a great deal.

FWIW for centuries folks have used a bowl of hot water & just dipped the razor in - but sure go for this if you feel you must. :-)

  • Or be a real man and have facial hair as nature intended

  • 5 blades is way too many for me, too much burn. 3 is the maximum i can go.

  • This will do a better job for you and cheaper
