Nintendo Live 2024 Ticketing

Does anyone know how the Nintendo Live 2024 ticket works? It's tied to your Nintendo ID, but how exactly do they validate that on the day in terms of the actual ticketing?

Reason I ask is that I'd like to bring my son, but my account is on a Family Plan that I share with friends (he doesn't have his own account 'coz he uses mine - we don't need 2 slots between us since I don't play much, if at all).

Ticket Registration just went live this morning

    From Family Ticket:

Children ages 6 and under do not require a ticket. All Minors attending the Event must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian that have received a Ticket.

    From the T&Cs:

All potential Event attendees ages 7 years old to 18 years old (“Minor”) must have a Nintendo Account and be part of the same Nintendo Account Family group as the person registering (if you do not have a Nintendo Account Family group, you can create one by following these instructions: https://www.nintendo.com.au/support/articles/how-to-add-memb…). All Minors attending the Event must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian that have received a Ticket in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. Children ages 6 and under do not need a Nintendo Account or Ticket to attend the Event and they may attend the Event with their parent or guardian that has received a Ticket. Attendees that bring any Minors to the Event represent and warrant that they are the parent or legal guardian of such Minor(s).

    • Yeah so he's 10 so that means he needs to have his own child account, which is easy enough. But I can't add him to my Family Sharing account because all slots are taken up by the people that I'm sharing with.

        I guess your options are:

        • Temporarily remove someone from the family plan and add your son
        • Start a new Family Plan (you don't need NSO to make an account) - Not sure if it affects your chances of getting a ticket
        • When ask, tell them your son is <6 years old.
        • Thanks, makes sense.

In case I was unclear that's why I'm asking whether and how the NID will be used for the event - i.e. will there be benefits that are tied to your account, in which case I'd want to use my primary account?

  • No tickets for my family group either.

  • I didn't make in Saturday Entry sadly. I heard Nintendo prefer lottery because of avoiding scaplers buy all the tickets.

  • Also missed out

  • Missed out too. Wonder if there is a way to transfer tickets to another person if you did manage to get one.

Woohoo, all the pfaffing around with creating accounts paid off. Got the fam in (2 adults 1 kid).

    Good luck everyone!

  • For people that didn't make it in - were they new/recent accounts?

Also didn't get in with recent accounts for family for Saturday

    • No; I've probably had it a couple of years now.

    • FWIW I got my family of three on Sunday:

      • My (dad) account was old but dormant/inactive for years
      • mum's account was newly created just for this
      • child's account was old but dormant/inactive for years.
  • They say in the FAQ that there's no waitlist after tickets have been allocated, but then in the email they say if you can't make it, to cancel so that some other person can receive the spot. So that must mean there's still a chance of getting a ticket if people cancel and you get picked…
