    I have zero interest in Minecraft, but that is a very cool design for the console. Suits the blocky nature of the Xbox perfectly.

    Shame it's just a decal and not an actual themed console. The Minecraft and Forza XB1 consoles had unique startup sounds and stuff.

      PS4 isn't an upgrade since it's same gen. Really showing it's age nowdays.

      A Series S or X would be an upgrade especially if you already have Game Pass

          Xbox series X is much better choice than ps5 if you're using it mainly as multimedia hub imo (Kodi app for playing mkv files off usb hdd on Xbox, web browser etc).

          However, ps5 has much better upscaling compared to xbox for physical dvd/Blu-ray media

          PS5 might possibly have a couple of exclusives (e.g. Death Stranding 2) but apart from that it's a much more expensive ecosystem to be locked into. I'd still stick with Xbox if you're willing to wait for any Sony games to eventually become cross-platform.

          I've found a lot less pain points with the Xbox for media; I know it has Plex and Jellyfin native apps but don't think the PS5 ever got their apps working well enough to recommend.

          I've never owned an Xbox. I've only ever had PlayStations. But I do know that Xbox have unmatched backwards compatibility, so if you want to replay your old games on disc, get an Xbox series X.

          You can more or less get the same games on each console, minus those few exclusives… But they're amazing exclusives. But like someone mentioned above, they're coming to Xbox and Steam these days.

          Plus, and this is completely subjective, I like the look of the Xbox.

          But I still love my PS5.

          EDIT: Oh… And your old controllers will also work on the Xbox.

            You very nicely summed up the pros and cons of each choice.

            I find that game pass (with Ozbargain pricing) is the matchwinner for me as a fairly casual gamer, as you can try a few things and see what sticks.
            I've borrowed a mates PS5 to play a few exclusives and they're really great, but was fine with giving them a run then giving back the machine.
            I really liked the extra features of the PS5 controller (when designed into the game) - but for OP, being able to use his old Xbox One controllers is a pretty big positive too.

      Just chiming in, I would recommend Series X if you're a casual gamer and mainly using it as multimedia hub.
      The GamePass is great for this.

      I personally game exclusives at PS5, and use GamePass casually on my PC.
      And so far, I don't see the need to upgrade to series x.

      But hey, at the end of the day,
      it really depends on the type of games that you wanna play.

    I got this exact deal through JB Hifi. I got them to price match the $639 from Target and Amazon and they threw in the game and decal….
    Didn't realise the decal was worth so much.

        I saw on their website that they had the game offer, so I phoned them to be sure it would be thrown in if they priced matched.
        At the counter paying the lady asked me if I wanted the decal, I said sure. Didn't see it advertised or anything and I wasn't expecting it.

    I have a strong PC, and no desire to own a console. I see no reason at all. I guess it will serve a family very well with kids and guests
