It’s hard to look at this bstd, without thinking of this bstd https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/827956

    Any deals on hypnotherapy?

    • +1

hmmm yeah i want dat old price

    • +1

@Lps Egad! Was gonna pounce on this deal (be great for the Steam Deck) then saw your comment. Methinks I'll wait for that price to come round again..

    • +1

Thanks Mate - will pass for now

    • Thanks mate, stopped me from buying the 10th power bank that I will not use anyway.

  • +2

    Are these any good?

On the look out for one of these after my Romoss 20+ sense has packed it in (from 2019).
I don't think they are meant to be opened or repaired.

Not sure I'll get another no name brand, probably better to stick with Anker etc.

    • +4

Yeah these are great - pretty much unbeatable value at this price, fast charging, decent build quality.

I also have that same Romoss charger (mine's still going strong) - although I admit I rarely use it now I have this one and can charge everything faster… And recharge the powerbank faster too.

I know how you feel though - buying cheaper stuff often isn't worth it. Since this is still a newer device, I can't say if it'll go the distance - but so far, I've been extremely happy with it, and if it dies in a couple of years and you have to buy another one, it's still cheaper than an Anker…

      • Sounds good thanks for the reply. I think 25,000mA is the larges for airports yeah?
Wouldn't mind spending a bit less for 20,000 or something but will see if there are any CB bonuses etc.

I've still got a smaller black 10,000mA Romoss that's fine, and they are generally good - two way fast PD charging etc. Would be good if they stopped when the phone is full though as they continue to charge and runs flat.

          Imuto 100W 20000mAh for $55. Was $31 yesterday, I missed.

Got one of these about a year ago for my phone and it's been all good. Bought a steam deck a few months ago and it gets almost 1.5 charges. Just noting it's a good shape and size to be attached to the back of my steam deck using the jsaux case attachment.

  • I have two of these (the lower capacity 10000mah version).

The quality is very good, but I'm not convinced that the claimed battery capacity is accurate. I think that's pretty much par for the course with battery banks thought. A single charge of my G32 from 20%-100% takes the battery down to about 35%>

So out of weird personal interest. (And part of my job is testing power banks)

In my testing the INIU B6 (10,000mAh version) has about 15% losses during voltage conversion at 9V 20W. This is normal - and in fact for a cheap power bank is above average. I have tested quite a few of these as well and they are quite consistent. (I buy them when cheap and test before giving them to friends and family)

Your phone also has conversion losses as it turns the 9V charge voltage into the appropriate voltage for the battery. The chemical process of charging the battery has small losses too. There are also minor cable and connection losses. If the phone is on, it also uses some power during the charge process.

The % readouts on power banks are often not very accurate as they don’t have very complex methods to track remaining capacity as accurately as your phone. So it’s hard to be super accurate here.

But you are using about 20Wh from the power bank (after losses) to add about 15Wh to your phone battery. 25% lost (after the power banks losses) isn’t a great result. But it’s within the margin or error here for normal power bank operation.

If you aren’t already, definitely charge via the USB-C port, as it will be more efficient.

Anyone recommend a solid 10kmah magsafe battery pack (preferrably with USB-C and stand?)
Looking for a travel companion for my iphone 15 pro max.

  • Not sure if it's worth it, but the newer 27,000mah model has a 20% off coupon bringing it down to $95.99

    • not a bad deal, would it be better to get that vs the anker 737 power bank? as far as i can see the anker one is ~70g lighter

      • Yeah I am not sure tbh. Anker a bit more expensive. Different shapes, so I suppose something to factor in for carrying.

  • Coupon gone 😪 back to normal price

  • Think maybe the model from Jan 2024 is different to this one. Unlikely it will ever drop to $31. I’ve been watching this for a while and the dual USB-C unit has never dropped below 61.19.

Please correct me if I’m wrong but have had it on camel and there is an older model which only had one USB-C port that was considerably cheaper.

Personally I lean towards this as the 140w port means (in my mind) it isn't working too hard to maintain 100w https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/841982

140w port means (in my mind) it isn't working too hard to maintain 100w

yeah smart. I would do the same.

most cheap power banks can only maintain the max output for a few minutes.
according to videos I watched even at lower prices INIU are good performers though and does manage the max output but they also get very toasty with a measured temperature of 60 degrees.

obviously if you have a 140w output and running 100w it will be cooler and less energy loss from heat and less stress on the powerbank.

      • It defiantly seems to run a lot cooler than a 100w hyperjuice.

      • Out of interest, which INIU model got to 60 degrees in the video you saw?

        • just read your comment.

sorry I can't remember the one exactly I think it might have been this one (skip to iniu part). https://youtu.be/0X0B28e_vKo
TLDR: INIU 65W 20k Power Bank outputs maximum spec output no problem but gets hot. reviewer is from canada so temp is celsius.

I know allthingsoneplace is more reliable so probably worth checking that one out too if they tested the same model. but regarding temperature I think they use the same infrared thermometer.

    • Seems that 27000mAh, or in other words, 100Wh is the maximum you can take on a a plane as well (FAA).

However CASA says 160wH and over aren't permitted.
I would still keep it under 27000 personally for other countries. Not sure if I'm comparing the same thing though.

      https://www.casa.gov.au/operations-safety-and-travel/consume…

      • It's 140w not 140wh. It's just 100wh or 2700mah

        • Ok thanks, didn't want to exceed it when looking for a new one. The weight of the 20000 is probably enough for what I want or takes up to much carry on weight up (and don't have a laptop).

          • @G-rig: You know you raise an interesting point. TSA might see 140w and think it is 140wh

    What is the coupon code?

    • Normally coupons appear as a tick box next to the listed price saying something like 'Apply X% coupon'. The coupon deal for this listing has expired though so you won't see any tick boxes on the product's page

      • thanks
