  • Holy $139 discounted sling bag, Batman!

  • For $139 (RRP $199), I hope you can fit the state of Texas in there…..

    does it come with $109 inside a $30 bum-bag?

    • +2

Sling bag. Too big for bums. You wear it on your sling.

I recommend checking out the Tomtoc bags for $45 ish. Cheap. Durable. Fits a Steam Deck.

Good bag but half the capacity

    • My opinion is that 9L is abit too heavy/big for the strap which is not padded. Otherwise decent price.

Accidentally replied to unrelated comment, sry. Since I'm here, tomtoc has exceptional price to quality ratio and I can recommend them as well. I had the 4.5L for a while but returned it in the end.

      • What was the reason you returned it?

        • +2

The shape of the tomtoc 4.5L was long, rectangular, and not very deep or wide. Add on the zip that opens up quite large means that I've always felt things would and could fall out easily at any moment each time i opened the bag.

If what you carry is mostly flat and longish items, then it might suit. Think switch, wallet, gloves, etc. But if you want to carry water bottle, small camera, anything that isnt long or narrow, I always felt it was at high risk of falling out the bag.

I ended up with a lite sling 4L from Bellroy in the end as my 'light' carry, and my daily driver + holiday daybag has been the Peak Design Sling 6L v2 for the past many years in many countries

    • This Tomtoc is 7L and does dip below $60 per the Camels. Other colour may go even cheaper.
Strap looks comfier for that weight but I don't have any experience (yet!)

That's the XS. There is a slightly larger S Model, also in that link, but I can't see the Litres listed on that one.

  • recently splurged on a bellroy (the mini sling). Expensive as hell but I have to say its damn impressive and will completely change travel

    When did ozbargain become ozcheapass?

    • +1

A large portion of ozb here are literally poor, and just want the cheapest stuff. They have no idea what value means.

      • +2

        I know what value means.
        I just can't afford it.

      • A large portion of ozb here are literally poor

I don't know if this is true. How do people become rich? Surely not by paying RRP!

        • Did i say anything about paying RRP? lmao

        • It started off as a site for Uni students who are not typically rolling in it

  • Bought and returned this and the mini version during the previous sale. Something about this bag isn’t right

    • Who you gonna call?

  • -2

isnt that a fanny pack for large waist disguise as a sling?

  • I’d recommend a herschel one as an alternative

  • that's one mighty expensive toiletry bag
