Who would this even be aimed at? No one even wants the hubble in the first place, there's better devices, and paying for kayo alone without the hubble is $10 less for the two months.

    • There's probably a market there for I would assume the older generation maybe? Who knows

      • Sounds like it should be but all their marketing suggests otherwise..

    • Can you share a list of the "better devices out there"? Genuinely interested as I am only aware of Nvidia Shield and Fetch

Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV stick, Google Chromecast… Playstation 5

        • Do these have a digital tuner in them though? I think these things are aimed at older generations or people who prefer the aio media stick.

  • Anyone got a Hubbl? Do you rate it?

    • +1

My neighbor has it and doesnt rate it. Says his Samsung does pretty much everything this does anyway. Says he is using it for the free Disney + for the 3 months then selling the device. I personally havent used it, just going off what he said.

Received one free (presumably as I am an ex-Foxtel subscriber) which I tested out as was keen to see the F2A guide and channel selection process.

Even for that I found it not worthwhile. It is nothing but an advertising platform to take out additional Foxtel channels/subscriptions imo, with the TV guide showing all channels and you not being able to filter out those you don't subscribe to. Similarly, when not in the EPG, the home pages (where you select your streaming apps) constantly shows content from apps you are not subscribed to. So, if (for example) you just want it for F2A, or Kayo, you cannot remove the other apps that you don't want, and can't filter out the programmes/shows that you don't have access to. It doesn't even have all the streaming apps you would want IF you did want to consolidate in this POS device.

I much prefer my Xiaomi TV Box S, my Amazon Firestick TV 4K Max and even the Samsung Smart TV itself. Don't waste your time would be my advice. At free it is still not worth it and is back in the box.

      • Great info, thanks for your comment. Sounds like a piece of crap

  • Back in March, I commented this will die in 18 months. Looks like my prediction was wrong and it's going to be earlier.
Hubbl management living in a bubble if they think this is what consumers want.

    • A Hubbl bubble.
There's the new ad campaign right there. A bubble perfectly describes Newscorp products!

      🎶Literally nobody’s hubbling🎶

  • It will go the way of the Telstra Box.. I mean the dodo

    • My Telstra box in the spare room is still working good lol

      • Mine started stuffing up but was under warranty so Telstra sent me out a free Fetch box.

Gruen tore this to shreds. Epic fail.

Not even if they paid me.

  • Hubbl looked interesting until looking at reviews. Currently my house doesnt get free to air TV and they advertised the free to air being seemless but doesnt seem the case. Anyone use the free to air app and rate it or another app that can be downloaded on Chromecast?

    • +4

For free to air tv I have been using the simple iptv addon on kodi with use the Matt Huisman/ slyguy settings. Has been going good so far for last 5+ years.

      • I'll check it out, cheers!

      • Thank you so much for this tip!!! Been searching forever for IPTV and this works perfectly

    • See my comment above replying to u/Nolanb134.

TLDR: Don't bother with this device. Whilst the F2A is "ok" the other points I mention above render it almost unusable for me.

  • What is hubbl anyway? I have never heard of it before

Foxtel box that makes a tv "smart"

There's nothing I enjoy watching more than a Murdoch company hemorrhaging cash on a product no one wants before dying a very public and humiliating death.
