Lenovo Laptop Options EOFY Deals

Hey,

I'm looking to take advantage the current eofy sales on the lenovo website plus the current cash rewards deal.

I've found the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i with a 32gb ram and 1tb ssd for $1677 plus 15% cashback (https://imgur.com/a/gbpxC5R) and while it seems like a great deal and relatively "future-proof" I wonder if there something more appropriate and cheaper, and whether I really need the 32gb. The base model comes with 16 but it's soldered, and I worry that soon won't be enough to run easily.

At the moment I don't do much with a laptop but basic home use, but I do need a new one. I want one that will last me a good number of years (5+), will be reasonably fast, and will work decently if I start using it for wfh. It also needs to be on the lighter side as I will like travel with it.

A lot of tech stuff is well above my head, so I don't think I need anything too flash, but I'll gladly take suggestions for other models. I would prefer Lenovo, but Asus would also be welcome. My upper budget is 1500 but I would ideally like around 1200

I would say absolutely yes to the 32gb of RAM, regardless the model you go for and specially if it's soldered.
I like Lenovo ThinkPad and Yoga laptops, they're very good quality 👍

  • I just bought a 2023 yoga 7 (not pro) and it's great. Mines a 2-in-1 and its not so light. I use a ThinkPad X1 carbon for work and it's a feather by comparison - so maybe look around try some out in store to be sure?

One of my family has been using a yoga laptop since 2016 and its now getting a little slow. So I think you're getting the longevity you're after with the one you're getting.

  • 32gb RAM is overkill for general home use right now. I think 16gb will be fine for at least 5 years.
