AliExpress Motherboard with Windows Professional RETAIL Key??

I bought this MW-NAS-N5105 motherboard from AliExpress

When I installed Win 11 Pro on a fresh blank SSD, I selected I do not have a key, as I intended to use the troubleshooter to transfer a key from a decommisioned machine.
But once installation was finished, I saw that "Windows is activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account"

slmgr /dlv shows
Windows Professional edition
RETAIL channel
Partial Product Key: 3V66T

slmgr /xpr shows
"Windows(R), Professional edition: The machine is permanently activated."

Does this mean the AliExpress motherboard came with a RETAIL PRO key???

    Licences are tied to motherboard.

    Either a used board or the motherboard hardware id is not unique.

    I bet an internet cookie the product key in full is VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T that key is the default Pro device that hasn't just had the key entered. It wont register but if the device has had a pro key used will activate the actual key on your behalf.

    Had you used your microsoft account on another system and or on the one you planned to reuse? That is possible where it came from.

      I have several PCs linked to my Microsoft account, including the one that I was planning to transfer the licence from.

      And I like your theory, especially since the decommissioned machine is no longer listed in my account devices,
      But I didn't get to transfer the licence, because Windows was activated on the new motherboard before I could get to the trouble-shooter.

      How would windows know where to transfer a licence from, if I didn't get to nominate??
