I have two of these seating idle getting dust (one for myself, and one I brought for my nieces). They do not pass audio through HDMI. If you check other reviews, you will find the similar issues faced by other members.

    Just a warning

  • Many of the amazon reviews say the HDMI port does not pass through any audio?

    • Easy Amazon return if so.

But I bought it to use as a charging Dock and Samsung Dex for a spare monitor at home

  • Ordered one for my phone. Hope it works

    • How are you planning on using this with your phone?

For my Pixel XL. Will try connecting a hard drive and ethernet cable to backup more photos to Google Photos for free unlimited cloud storage at original quality.

It's also handy for using your phone as a mobile data device plugging into the WAN port of your router

Hot damn, I've never thought of that. Been using a Pixel XL with Syncthing and a chargie to keep the battery alive as long as possible but the internal memory has always been a limiting factor.

  • Bought one for my S23 ultra, don't know if it will work, don't know if I need it if it does work but I bought one anyway.

Edit: I wonder if this could add ethernet to my chromecast with google tv… that is something I have wanted a few times.

    • It should work to use Dex

    • That's the ozbargain way! Buy now think later

  • Bought one. Hopefully no issues with the HDMI.

I'll give one a try for a tenner

  • Any for Legion Go?

    • If legion has usb c, this will work

      • Cable may not be long enough?
The usb c port is on the other side for the Legion.

  • I wonder if you connected Bluetooth headset to the steam deck and got audio that way? Would that work?

    • Don't see why not, pretty sure you can choose the audio output device manually

  • One more available guys

  • bought for $9.99 2 left now

  • Damn, you snooze you lose.

  • Holy crap, it actually fully functions with the chromecast with google tv. Running on ethernet now for in home game streaming!

    • What game streaming can you do on the Chromecast?

      • I stream my own PC games via Sunshine as the host (I have an AMD card) and Moonlight as the client on the chromecast. Was "ok" via wireless but is now noticeably better with a wired connection. Ghost of Tushima was the first game I tried because a tiny bit of lag is frustrating in swordfighting and it has definitely improved.

    • How did you connect between TV and chromecast

      • Presume:

        TV<—Chromecast<—Hub<—Power supply

        and Hub<—Ethernet cable

      • The original chromecast HDMI out not the one from the dock. 8bitdo wireless receiver in the docks USB port works as well as the ethernet port obviously. Original chromcast power supply into the dock.
