  • Any idea on how long they keep? I normally buy one refill bag at a time, but might stock up on a few at this price.

    • +1

Keep it dry and it will last a long time. We usually stock up on a couple big bags of spice chai and have left them unopened in the cupboard for several months without worry. When using, tip a bit into a hermetically sealed container (we use a small glazed ceramic jar with a rubber seal) and keep the rest in the bag. Squeeze any air out before closing the ziplock. Fill the container as required.

Am I the only one who thinks T2 quality is meh?

    • +1

      Not an uncommon opinion!

    • +6

Definitely not the only one. Almost all the black teas come out oversteeped when brewed to instruction, easily compensated for with a shorter brew time though. What can't be compensated for however is the addition of flavourings to almost every black tea they sell. If you like the flavour then power too you, but that overly artificial flavour is not my… Um… cup of tea [sorry]

I'm a fan of their herbal blends though. Their herbals are adequate, but overpriced compared to just about anywhere offering the same typical varieties. Loose leaf 'Tummy Tea' is in constant rotation in our collection and is always a hit with guests who try it. It's like a mild mint with an aniseed aftertaste. Huge recommend.

    • Definitely. Have moved over to the tea centre now and I feel like it's might and day

    • Yea, unilever is super meh.

Buy from artesianal or boutique tea shops online.

    • Not at all. I find McIver's much better quality and prices.

  • Had a gift card from Christmas to use. Picked up melbourne breakfast and china jasmine. Their tea is very overpriced without a sale.

  • This used to be my favourite, but really enjoy New York Breakfast now.

  • For those trying, the 10% sign up discount does not stack with the sale. It's in the terms and conditions :/

  • Delivery showing us unavailable for anyone else?

  • I feel like it could be worth expanding this deal title. Plenty of teas on sale for $25 including Just Peppermint and Tummy Tea (in a tin!)
Finally a good deal from T2 especially with 6.5% ShopBack

  • +3

I implore people to check out Berry Tea Shop instead of T2. Half the price, thrice the quality.

  • The french early grey tea from twinings is similar, and wayyyyy cheaper

  • Malbourne tea? Bet it tastes pretty grouse.

  • fwiw I've heard T2 isn't the most ethical company out there for Tea

    • Is any company? At the very heart of most tea operations is vast growing estates in largely third world countries that depend on huge labour forces made up primarily of impoverished & underpaid locals. Mechanisation can only do so much, but the reality is good tea still requires human hands (and lots of them!) for an astonishing number of tasks. If local workers were paid fair Western-level wages then we, the consumers, would be paying about $250 for one of these packets instead of only a tenth of that price.

      • +1

Depends how bad the exploitation is - they should be paid minimum fair wage for their economy. The cultivar type tea is more likely to have a family running it. The mass produced tea like T2 is more likely to buy as low as possible and as bear minimum quality as possible which usually means they're sourcing it from questionable places.

      • Yeah I can understand that perspective. But there are certainly organizations that try to mitigate some of things you have mentioned by having positive incentives for their workers and communities. One that I can think of on top of my head is Dilmah, who have hospitals setup for their local community, education progammes for under privileged kids in the area and other sustainable agriculture and community practices. How much of this is tightly followed, only the locals can tell. But it has to be better than turning a complete blind eye like certain organizations.

  • this is the best tea.. really easy to drink, black with no sugar.

  • +2

uh-uh. Last time I bought from T2 they leaked my address, phone number and DOB. Lol

  • the Melbourne Airports T2 terminal is having a sale for breakfast… well thats pretty cool.

  • got it in store for same price

  • They still haven’t processed my order from this sale 1 month ago. Asked me to wait another 5-7 business days for it to be processed and offered 15% discount to order more lol. This is a neg from me, could have ordered from amazon and received it the next day.
