Bellroy Transit Backpack - Bronze $179 + Delivery ($0 to Metro/ in-Store/ C&C/ OnePass) @ Officeworks

230

Bellroy transit backpack for a steal at $179, sadly only available in bronze at this price, although it does look like a nice tobacco colour.

I don’t have a transit but it has reviewed well for both EDC and travel alike. I’d be interested to hear peoples experience if they have one, particularly the zipper. I’m not too keen on the aqua guard zip cover. One reviewer also mentioned the zippers were a bit stiff.

Edit: this appears to be 20L version based on dimensions (there’s also a 28 and 32L on the Bellroy website)

This might be online only… seems like no stock in store.

Don't have this bag specifically, but have another Bellroy bag with the same zippers. Agreed that they're a bit stiff. I think the sort of zipper is good for a luggage bag where you don't open it often. For a regular backpack, it's pretty hard to open (e.g. can't open it with just one hand without holding the bag down).

    • Oh man, bummer on two counts, firstly don’t like the sheen of the zip, and secondly, makes it a bit difficult to open… not a big deal really, but at that price point, I probs don’t want to be making compromises… on the plus side, it helps to prevent water ingress and reduces risk of bag opening and all your stuff falling out of its clam shell opening.

I've got the 28 litre version and I love it. Really well made, excellent quality. I've had no problem with the zips. The rear laptop compartment is well designed. I've taken mine as carry on when flying and it was great. I'm trying to justify buying the 20 litre one too!!

OK….I'll bite,so how is $179 for a backpack any kind of deal?

It's a fancy backpack - deal is just relative to full price for the fancy Ozbargainers out there. *returns to packing burlap sack*

      Poor man always pays twice.

I've had a Bellroy bag for the past 6 years and still works perfectly. It's quality stuff. Before that, I went through a whole bunch of cheaper bags which always broke or developed problems over time.

FWIW, not limited to bags, there have been a few things where I've just gotten sick of shit quality trash, spent the money to buy something good, and it's actually worked out to be cheaper (on a "per unit time used" basis).

I have this bag in blue and it is my edc work bag. The top cradle that holds items in the same zip compartment as the laptop is a godsend. I swear by just this one feature alone.

I also carry a Camelbak mag chute 1L in the hidden bottle compartment and it fits perfect. I also once had this same bottle leak because I forgot to close the lid and the waterproof lining protected my laptop.

10/10 recommend and would have gotten this bronze colour instead if I could buy it again

    • Thanks I was wondering how big the drink bottle pocket was.

  • 40L is perfect travel backpack size for 7kg luggage

  • No stocks, is this some kind of new marketing technique?
