Reached out to Starbuy to see if any deals could be done for Panda Speedtimer - much to my surprise Team Starbuy said yes and offered not 1 but THREE OZBARGAIN exclusive specials were given:

There is also this deal of the day as mentioned by @Watchnerd $249
Citizen Eco-Drive CA4507-84X

I have been asked specifically by team Starbuy to advise these deals be kept just here and not reposted to social media.

Enjoy.

Huge thanks to Deepak, Dean and team Starbuy.

      oh damn! haha

i think for $4 (or I guess $24) Im happy to give the business to team Starbuy.

should be posted as a new deal to keep the hype train going

    • It's a shame Shiels rarely have competitive prices, with the $150 voucher occasionally it works out very well.

      • Why, did shiels have this on sale too?

        • +1

No, their prices aren't even close 95% of the time, but the vouchers go alright.

    • +1

      Now..$555

      😲 LOL

  • +1

Awesome. Saw this deal on a facebook group and came here to post.

    • I have been asked specifically by team Starbuy to advise these deals be kept just here and not reposted to social media

Watch Depot must have posted it!

  • +3

    The official OZB watch lol

    • +2

One of those times where you gotta go damn I wonder if that dude is from ozbargain.. or just happens to have immaculate taste?

    • +1

don't you mean the eneloop of watches?

    • Nope that's the SD1970.

      • WN's favorite

      • Criminally underrated

        • +1

Yes but there are plenty of others the same or better now from those brands.
Still can't argue with $80-100 for the quality of SD, Addesdive, Pagani etc.
Great for people building a collection and/or getting into it.

Ultimately good to buy a few proper brands as well.

          • @G-rig: will prob pick up the pagani speedy when the price is right too and an sd1953

            • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I said I'd sell that Pagani Daytona when I got the Seiko speedtimer (which I did). Bit similar and don't need both imo, and one is a blatant Rolex knockoff.

I'd get a dive watch if some sorts, but not here to piss on ya parade 🤣.

  • Panda so pretty too bad my wallet cant afford…

  • The presssge does look really good.

I still haven't worn my watch from another deal. It's still in the box from Christmas. I'm going to resist and not buy.

I'll use that money for a new gpu!

    • What was the other watch u got? And damn I wish I one day can get to a level of financial freedom where I can buy a new piece and not even other to take it out of the box for a spin :(

      • +1

I couldn't take it out because the straps were too long. I had tiny wrists. I didn't want to pay $$ to have someone else do it for me. I asked my mate for his watch repair kit and waited weeks to get it. Finally got my hands on another crappy apple watch pokey thing and am about to try my luck with that to shorten the straps.

It was the orange Seiko from shiels. I think from oct/no last year.

  • 3 SSC813P left

  • Far out, these 3 watches must be popular based on the amount of comments in this bargain thread… Which means I’m clearly the odd one out then when I say I don’t like the look of them with the exception of the Seiko Presage SRPJ21J. I bought a Citizen Tsuyosa NK5010-51L watch the weekend before last, which is a much nicer watch in my opinion. The most recent bargain thread for the Citizen Tsuyosa NK5010-51L only had a handful of comments in it, so clearly the general consensus is that it’s not as nice and popular as these watches, and that they are more popular than they possibly deserve over the Citizen Tsuyosa NK5010-51L, or maybe the Citizen Tsuyosa NK5010-51L doesn’t deserve the hype from some:

      must be popular

Most upvotes I’m sure are actually for the SSC813P

I say I don’t like the look of them

That’s ok. Everyone entitled to an opinion lol.

NK5010-51L watch the weekend before last, which is a much nicer watch in my opinion.

Not one to yuck someone else’s yum but as far as Tsuyosa’s go it’s not for me 😂 for reference - my top pick for Tsuyosa would be NJ0152-51X - which I’m fairly sure you would probably think ‘yuck’.

    • +1

it’s not as nice and popular as these watches, and that they are more popular than they possibly deserve over the Citizen Tsuyosa NK5010-51L

The Tsuyosas are overhyped IMO, nice cheaper alternative to the PRX and wear better, but they are really a $300 watch. Shitty cheap bracelet, the recessed crown is a dog to try and use, so winding and setting the date becomes a chore, old movement. Sapphire at that price is it's saving grace though. I much prefer the Speedtimer, and people are more likely to hold onto them. Maybe go and look at the in the shops.

      https://ibb.co/5k6VS8M

That's the most popular colourway, may consider when under $400. Not paying a premium for a special second hand. Each to their own though, people are allowed to like what they want (and a lot of collectors have both anyway).

    • +1

Seiko is the biggest name in affordable watches. Quality issues aside, they exploit that advantage.
      In addition…
A common gripe in watch deals is "XXmm, too big for my wrist".
Here's a 39mm chrono in an age where 42-48mm are common.

Aside from which, as nice as your Tsuyosa is, it was $500 compared to this $300 Seiko Presage — not exactly fair.

    Ssc813p all gone

  • Bought the Presage 🤓

  • +1

Ssc813p Restocked. Starbuy advised deals expire at 10am.

    • +1

I've got 6 minutes to make up my mind. FFS.

      • +1

        What was the result?

        • +1

Too slow, missed out It's a sexy watch for sure, but just not for me. I prefer clean, legible dials and telling the time at a quick glance.

          • +1

@MS Paint: That's fair. I wouldn't buy it as an only watch.
Divers and field watches are great for that reason.

          • +1

            @MS Paint: It's still 575/555 at the other place…

            • @Speckled Jim: In starbuys defence, their price included express delivery. Mines on track for delivery today (ordered yesterday)

555 is a great price but

            • +2

@Speckled Jim: If I was going to buy it I would have purchased from Starbuy. I'm a big believer in "honor the source".

              • +1

@MS Paint: Yes that and they check it over and provide excellent service. Some of the others are mostly jewelers and don't have much product knowledge (as in your Shiels, bevelles, Graham, Wallace Bishop etc).

Sometimes it takes almost two weeks to get them.

                • +2

@G-rig: The Adelaide based one (shiels??) take for bloody ever just to get the item packaged and posted. Shit service in my multiple experience. All of my Starbuy purchases were shipped the next day.

                  • @MS Paint: Yes, agree and all true. Sometimes I try and do click and collect so I can just go and inspect and grab it. Depends what state you're in of course, and they usually only have one of each watch in store so it may be sitting out.

                    • +2

@Mike-f: That makes sense. Some communication in that time would be great. For example…

Hey Muzeeb. Thanks for your purchase. The [insert watch here] you purchased is not available for immediate delivery. The watch needs to be sent from our [interstate] store where upon delivery and thorough QC inspection it will be sent to you. Thanks for your patience. Wear your watch in good health and I'm certain it will look good on you.

                      Regards
                      Mike

Otherwise a week later I'm saying to myself..

WTF is this backwater operation up to. I want my watch.

              • @MS Paint: 100% - bet that watch depot wouldn’t have knee jerk price beat if it wasn’t for Starbuy. I guess for those after the 911s it was a good day as Starbuy bopped watch depot right back.

The real winner is definitely Seiko in all this though (and everyone who got a hot price watch).

Got my ssc813 delivered, kudos again for starbuy prompt processing, dispatch and free express delivery.

For me the release is unreal - this bloody thing that I have been chasing for basically years. I recommend it and it will now by my daily one when not wearing an apple watch during gym hours.

    bits status: chuffed.

    • +1

Next day from ordering is amazing, very worthwhile instead of hearing nothing for half a week or a week!

      Congrats mate

    • I think you need to put 1 day aside per week for the SD1970.

      • Agreed - I am a bit sad the sd1970 does not get more wrist time

      • +2

You don't need to wear a watch for wrist time.

        • So if I start wearing my watch on my right wrist it will feel like someone else is wearing it?

    • +1

Congrats Jimothy and glad the wait (not Starbuy's delivery time!) was worth it.

Time to set up #ozbstarbuyaddict on insta?

So much better to have chuffed bits than chaffed.

      • +2

        Cheers mate

Time to set up #ozbstarbuyaddict on insta?

Like my mate who has a dedicated insta for pics of his Porsche 718 , maybe I’ll instead start one for ssc813 , taking it for adventures.

todays adventure - 1st day out for a spin

        • +1

🤣 life is good. Happy adventures, mate.

        • Base 718 or are we talking GTS, GT4 etc?

          • @MS Paint: GT3 every day of the week

            • +1

@G-rig: With touring package - yes please. I'll take the in oslo blue thanks.

              • @MS Paint: We should do a group buy, 😆

                • +1

@G-rig: As long as the dealer accepts payment in Woolworths gift cards we should be good to go.

                • +2

@G-rig: Speaking of group buys….I just saw this on eBay. Read the description. I'd love to buy it then just tell the dude to keep the watch, don't send it. This would be a great ozbargain watch community service. If 20 of us chip in $100 how awesome would that be?

                  • @MS Paint: Far out had it since 1975! That blows my mind. The oldest watch i have is only maybe 15 years old..

                  • +1

@MS Paint: Love the caseback inscription. Unfortunately he got robbed at service time as thats a horrible aftermarket dial. 🙁
Be nice if he still has the original dial as there's guys that can make even the mouldy old ones look reasonable.

                    • +2

@Emeister: They didn't even align the bezel either in the refresh. I guess that's just an attempt of originality.

                      • +1

@MS Paint: I enjoy your take on things Muzeeb 😆👍
And a very nice thought to help a guy out. 👏

On the plus side for Ken.,if that strap is original, and not an Uncle remake, then its worth a fair bit alone.

                        • @Emeister: Description says the band was swapped recently.

                          • +1

@MS Paint: Missed that. You might only need 10 others to chip in then! 😉

                      • +2

@MS Paint: Customer notes on work order: align bezel according to manufacturer specifications

                        Technician: *sweating *

                  • @MS Paint: Nice sentiment. Assume it's legit, nice piece of history but I'd prefer a new one.

          • +1

            @MS Paint: His is base
