Haier 433L Refrigerator HRF420BEC (8-Star Energy) - $1156 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ The Good Guys Commercial (Membership Required)

130

I believe this is the most efficient refrigerator on the market in Australia. I have been waiting for this to go on sale for the past 4-5 months but it hasn't. Pulled the trigger yesterday at TGGC, which is more than $200 cheaper than RRP elsewhere. Delivery normally costs $55 but it became $0 during checkout, didn't have to put in any promo code (I'm using TGGC via ART), not sure if that's the same for everyone.

I looked at this fridge in the shops and the door opening is terrible- you have to bend over to open the fridge door as the opening groove is on the bottom and its really low down (and I'm only 5'3''). Stupid design.

    • Agreed, but not a big deal for me tho

    • Yep terrible design. I was in Harvey Norman today and thought to myself all the new fridge doors are wack.
We have the double door Fischer and Fisher and Paykel at home and that has external handles which honestly I couldn't go without

      • +1

Yes, agreed. My current Samsung fridge has external handles exactly for that reason, but these days it seems manufacturers are going for style over function as around 95% of the bottom mount fridges I looked at did not have external handles… very annoying!

  • Wow, 8 star. I got the 7 star Hisense last year with the QLD Government subsidy? grant?

It's saving me so much money compared to my previous 20+ year old fridge. And there's a fridge that's even more efficient? Amazing.

This have to be as efficient as Tesla’s heat pump system!

  • 387kwh a year doesn't seem right. My LG 420L - a few years old now - uses 299kwh a year.

    • +1

Their description says a 3.5 star uses 387kWh, and they use almost 60% less, which is around 155kWh for this 8 star fridge. About $70 a year saving for 30c/kWh.

    • +1

      That's a 3.5 star fridge for comparison.

Their specs sheet states 155kWh/year which is extremely efficient indeed.
