These points are worse than QFF points. Meaningless.

do we know what wine this is.. a previous deal has the same description and its a 2019 bottle.. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/832749

wouldnt this be considered a scam due to over inflated rrp and hide the actual product.

      • yes indeed

      • Of course, it's not a "scam", but they need to use terms like "mystery dozen" on OB in the headline if they aren't disclosing the exact products & brands, but the retailer is calling it "Secret Dozen" on their website, it's very visible, so that would suffice as not misleading.
I wouldn't be buying any wines not knowing what they are. Each to their own.

Archery Road Shiraz 2021 - Different wine to last time, but yeah… odd that they've dropped the same description into this post. Probably an oversight though it could just be a testament to "it's another McClaren Vale Shiraz"?

      • thanks for the tip!

wines that can't be sold to China 'brands'. Yes, overinflated RRP to market them at cheap prices with supposedly the great discount. I've had a few of the various 'brands' and they are ok. But yes, way overinflated.

  • So, inflated RRP aside, probably a good deal still?

Still a good deal. Easily worth $15-20 per bottle.

Probably. But bear in mind that "$55 RRP" doesn't mean you are going to be getting a $55 bottle of wine at $11.75 a bottle.

11.75 a bottle is very cheap. At that price point, it's mainly Aldi wine and lower end French/Italian/Argentinian/Chilean/Spanish/Portugese (basically places where they are either subsidised or labour is cheap). You could also get Bec Hardy at that price.

If you want a half decent daily drinker, I would give it a roll of the dice.

I have personally bought a bunch of mystery wines. Some were great deals and I am very happy with it. Some were…OK deals. My suggestion if you were to buy it, would be to just enjoy it and not over analyse things.

  • OK, so it turned out I had a bottle of Archery Rd Cabernet 2021 in my 'cave'. Just opened and it is an excellent drop at this price.

  • Wish i had storage..
