  • Anything for resellers?

    • Hi,

Unfortunately with the price of cPanel licenses we are no longer able to discount reseller plans. We used to, and still honour old discounts, but it's not feasible anymore.

And existing reseller plans at 50% discount are likely running at a loss depending on the actual accounts used by the clients. But we stick by the discount still! :)

I'm actually one of those customers, i have an active account, and you've bumped up my charges to full rate, the lifetime discount was not honored as claimed.

edit: not saying that you should have to make a loss on my account, but i am paying full rates, is my point.

Interesting. Was this a recent change to recurring charges (last few days?) as we introduced a new tool to fix some issues with incorrect pricing when clients upgrade. This may have affected specific clients that were on a custom discount plan and put them on normal price, that's a guess though.

Can you open a ticket on Obble or PM me your account name/main domain and I'll take a look.

If you were previously a Stealth customer, there was a price increase to move discounted Stealth customers to discounted Obble customers which did incur a price increase (But still 50% off the Obble pricing). Once I take a look at your account I will be able to see what's going on.

And will reply here so the outcome is public for transparency

          • @Obble: Sure mate, i'll DM my details. I'm happy to share this info, that I was a Stealth customer.

            I've been paying:
            $50 for 50GB & 50 cPanel accounts

            You current plans are (https://obble.com.au/reseller-hosting)
            $35 for 35GB & 30 cPanel accounts
            $70 for 100GB & 100 cPanel accounts

            • @freewhere: Hi,

I've fixed you up to renew at $25 now. The stealth merge to Obble increased stealth pricing to match Obble, and 50% off customers would get 50% off the Obble pricing. But now you're at the correct pricing and I've created an exception so it shouldn't automatically update your pricing in the future.

              Thanks!

              • @Obble: Thx, do i get a credit for being billed at full rates?

                • +1

@freewhere: Hi, I have added the credit to your account now for future invoices. Cheers

  • I love me some 300% CPU
Does that mean the CPU compute I get varies depending on the time of day?

    • Hi,

You can utilize up to 3x cores at once for peak traffic, resource intensive tasks/scripts, etc. Your site during lower activity periods though, may only utilise a portion of a single core. But the 3x core availability is there if required for those tasks mentioned.

      Cheers.

  • lol how do you even get more than 100% ?? Maybe the marketing team needs to head back to school ? :)

    • +1

      Hi. Percentages can exceed 100%.

So when you have 100% of a core, that's 1 core. When you have 300% CPU allocation, you have 3x 1 core (usability of up to 3 cores at once).

      Thanks

    • I think 100% in this context means one core. So 300% means up to three cores at one time.

    Value looks good.

An alternative free option: If you have very simple requirements you can host a website for free on Cloudflare (https://pages.cloudflare.com/). I’ve seen a few people swap Squarespace for this option for personal / small business websites. Easy to use. Reliable. Since a common cause of downtime is credit card expiry leading to non renewal, free has one less point of failure than cheap.

    • Thanks for your comment. Definitely also a good alternative depending on client/business requirements and perhaps lesser flexibility/support.

Still a good option for simple personal sites to save some $ :)

  • Been with Obble/Stealth (when I joined) for 3 years. Great support 👍

    • Thank you!

  • I've been with Obble for 4 years, I can also concur they provide a great service and are awesome for support.

    • Thanks :)

  • Intermediate would be a little slow for Nextcloud I would imagine?

    • 14 day money back guarantee, so I'll give em a crack and report back.

  • Any plans for VPS discounts?

    • Unfortunately not, due to the rising IP costs. We can't discount our VPS services :(

      • Can we add/upgrade Gb on cheaper plans?

        • Hi, should be able to organise that. If you open a ticket with what you need then we can take a look. Cheers.
