We are looking at installing an alarm system on our shed - hopefully a reed on each roller door and a motion sensor inside.
The issue is we don't have WIFI in our shed so hoping for a system that runs via cellular.
Also happy for a system that just sounds an alarm so hopefully our neighbours would hear.
Option to suggestions. I'm not super tech savvy so beginner :)

How far from home is the shed? Maybe a new wifi system in the home would reach the shed.
About 40 metres from home to shed - down a slight incline.
Wifi raises like hot air. So if you put the router inside your freezer it'll cool the wifis down and they should go straight down the incline.

I mentioned the incline as I’ve had several companies tell me wifi extenders have to be in view on both ends - not the case on ours as there is an incline plus trees in the way 🤦♀️
@loiloi: Any chance you want to put a gaming console and stuff in there, make it a man cave, or woman cave? Could run a 50m ethernet cable down to the shed. If someone spends a lot of time in the garden back there they might appreciate good wifi too.
lots of 4G home alarms on aliexpress. just need to make sure they are 4G and support the required bands

Just add a 4G security camera (numerous options) to monitor any events
