ADL (or Other Eastern City) to Europe (Anywhere) Business Class Rewards - Velocity

Looking at booking 2 x business rewards to Europe next year (Summer or Early Autumn) and wondering what is the best way to go about it?
I'm mainly in the Velocity program and have tried using a Gyoza which only shows until May but even with the suggested dates, once I search it on Virgin to book, they don't exist. Where is Gyoza therefore getting it's search data from?
Am I better off ringing Virgin and spending ages searching through available dates? We don't care what dates just some time when it's warm.
Any advice would be great.

Most airlines release flight itineraries 11/12 months ahead of time. We are only in the first week of June now so that probably explains why you can only see flights up until May.

Probably not yet released. Just search ADL-DOH on VA and the furthest you can see is May 4 (which has 2 seats available in business). Then search DOH to whatever European destination you want until you find an available seat. Don't sleep on the ADL-MEL-DOH flight as well.

    • Why not sleep?

      • Lol I mean don't miss out on it. You have to scroll down a bit to find it.

        • haha…gotcha. Thanks!
Odd thing is i could see ADL-DOH or MEL business reward, then DOH-ROM business reward but couldn't add them together. Assuming they do this on purpose…

          • @killabob: Which days?I can see ADL-MEL-DOH-FCO on 2/5 and 3/5 and ADL-DOH-FCO on 4/5 for 2 pax.

            • @Autonomic: You sure? I see no business reward seats available.

              • @killabob: Yes I'm sure. They've probably been booked. I can see 2 more on 5/5.

Think about paying for a seats.aero sub for one month a bit closer into 330 days out from when you want to fly. They make digging up seats quite easy.

Also, note that finding one business award should be straightforward, but two is often a lot more challenging. Think about doing one person on points and the other paying cash.

    • Thanks for the tip

SIngapore Airlines is 355 days from memory. Their taxes and fuel surcharge are much lower than the ME carriers which can be quite ridiculous.

Can either book using Velocity points or transfer to Krisflyer at 1.55:1 as sometimes there are odd routes where one program works out cheaper than the other for the same flight.
