  • good for dashcam, or it's gonna slow down the read/write operations and efficiency? (asking for viofo 2k)

    • +1

      According to cheapchips.com.au..

Endurance cards are built to last which makes them reliable for day after day for capturing video on your Dash cams or home security systems. Writing and rewriting can take its toll on a memory card, but the Endurance Cards are built to stand up to the task.

It will work for VIOFO dash camera, but the 'Sandisk High Endurance' is 'not recommended' by VIOFO

      • +2

So … clearly the Viofo card is a rebranded Sandisk Max, so they had to include that as a recommended card in case the savvy people discovered they are the same card!

        <removes tin foil hat>

I've used the Samsung Evo and Pro cards for years in my units.

        • +2

Same here, I've had the Samsung EVO Plus in my Viofo Dash Cam for years now.

          • +2

@RichardL: And … because I take out my cards and copy all the video onto HDD, I know if there's an issue with the card.

        • +1

They're only depicting 128gb and mostly in their manuals mention 128gb. You can't equate the performance of memory by brand alone.

But yes I use EVO and also standard Sandisk zero issues. Never understood why people think they can rely on High endurance as if it's a panacea for due care of regular checks.

Yes … well … I made the mistake of thinking a dashcam in 2023 ought to support 512gb cards! That was a $94 mistake, and had to continue using my 256gb cards.

LOL Viofo Australia sells High Endurance cards regardless

  • Would this be good to use in a DJI action 4 for shooting 4K/50fps?

    • +3

God i hate SD card naming conventions they make it so painful.

You should be fine. I think the recommended write speed is 30MB/s and this just exceeds that.

      • DJI recommends Sandisk Extreme Pro level cards for action 4. I have had issues even with 60MBps write cards. Better to play it safe and get Sandisk Extreme Pro if filming critical videos.

        • interesting,

that's probably for the 50fps. i'm probably thinking at recording at 25/30fps at 4k maybe.

          • @TexasVujicic: Nope. I have had problems with 25 and 30 FPS. There isn't a big difference in bit rate between 25fps and 50fps. In saying that you will get better image quality at lower fps. For 120Mbps bit rate you only need a write speed of 15MBps but even 60MBps card had issues intemittently. Average 60MBps speed doesn't equate to consistent 60MBps. Writes to blocks that already have data takes longer too because it needs to erase the block before it writes data to it. Deleting/formatting the micro SD card does not erase the data in the blocks.

This has a slow write speed. You’re better off getting a Samsung Evo Plus which are also on sale https://amzn.asia/d/3tHNlzn

    • This card didn't work in my viofo a229 pro

  • Does anyone know if they make 512GB version of High Endurance ?

    • +5

      Google knows.

      • Hey @Google, do they make a 512GB version of High Endurance?

  • What's a good micro SD card for TP link Tapo C210?

These are so shit for dashcams. Can only confirm using in my BlackVue at the time, they bricked with in a few months. Had two of them in both my dashcam and both bricked at some point.

Been using the Samsung pro endurance with the BlackVue (previous dashcam) and current VIOFO 139 pro with no issues whatsoever. Highly recommend the Samsung pro endurance

    • +1

Yes, had the exact same experience with the "high endurance". Would be willing to try the "max endurance" version though to see if they're any better.

    • Came here to ask about this. I have a BlackVue dashcam as well using a 256GB Blackvue supplied MicroSD card and was wondering what I would replace it with when the time comes. Will certainly keep an eye out for the Samsung Pro Endurance ones. Thanks for commenting on this!

FYI I put a Sandisk High Endurance 512GB in my Viofo A229 Pro and it kept beeping saying 'SLOW SD Card'

  • is this good for steam deck for window boot? thanks.
