  • Got one of these when they first came out, Not bad easy to use, But Iv since had 2 of the battery pack fail.

    • Is this also available at Auburn store?

Also from your experience, how many mAh are each of the batteries & average charge time? About the 2 dead batts, how long have you used them for & was it heavy use (regular charging/discharging)?

      • I looked at them when they first came out, didn't get them because you couldn't purchase additional/replacement battery packs for it anywhere. But for $10 I guess you can't go too wrong.

Shame no Costco over here in Perth, I'll have to make do with my rechargable AA's from Hobby King.

        • You don't need replacement packs - they use standard AAA cells.

      • I never got them from costco, Just got them from my local Kmart,
Just pulled one at and surprised that there only 500mAh (Written on the plastic so I think that means total)
That took about a year for the first one to fail through with light use, But I did leave the wiimotes on the charge for weeks at a time, when I forget about them. Definitely worth the purchase at $10. You can leave any rubber grips and and not have to worry about cords breaking, Also the mat is really slim so it really blends into the entertainment unit we have.

  • Since it's Costco, you can always get a refund if they fail. doesn't hurt to try. Thanks OP going to get one tomorrow.

  • It's a good deal although I have to say it's still not a good purchase.

I bought one of these for $50 from JB Hifi back in March. I've had to contact the Energizer customer support a few times as the batteries just won't charge after a while. Initially they said that it was a common issue with the earlier models and sent me replacement batteries which are from the 'newer' version, but since the problem kept on happening, in the end I had about 10 of these. After the latest batch failed again, I gave up and went back to JB Hifi to get a refund as using non-conductive chargers or even normal AA batteries were a lot less hassle than this. All in all, good concept but poor end product.

  • These things are the best, got it for $40 and I thought tvat was fantastic…

Is the charging mat powered by USB from Wii or from powerpoint?

    • Powerpoint unfortunately

      • Unfortunately? WTF? The Wii only has 2 x USB's and you can't afford to lose one for a charger.

Plus there is no way that it'd charge 4 x WiiRemotes (at a decent rate) off a single USB port.

These are easy to open, all you need is a small Philips head screw driver. They use normal aaa batteries, so here is a good use for your LSD nimh batteries.

    • What does that mean?
Use the charge mat to recharge the LSD batteries?
      Is that possible?

      • Its possible if there is a separate device inside the battery pack housing that receives the EM waves then feeds/routes the energy to the AAAs. AFAIK the energy doesn't go directly into batteries I think (not sure on the specifics of induction tech)?

You can use any normal rechargeables such as eneloops, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be very efficient charging & might even possibly chew through your charge cycles.

  • Great product, great price.

We've had ours for a couple of years, it's used every day.

If the light "blinks" the it's not charging… just remove then reposition the WiiRemote and it will work.

  • Wonder if the mat would work with the Nexus 4?

  • Just picked one up! Thanks OP! :)
