I've been shopping for a TV all week. Found some old stock of Sony KDL-40X3100's at first (David Jones) for $1999.

I thought that was a good deal - then I went in to Sony Centre to try to find some of this 40X old stock and do a price match.

Instead - they have advertised a 40XBR for $2199 with a $180 5 year warranty included!

DJs were gonna do 18Mths interest free but you have to pay $99 per year to have their card (and they couldn't approve me on the spot)

So I got 24Mths Interest free on the XBR and because I was already with HSBC it took 10 minutes to do an addon I was out of the store
in 15 mintues.

They have a couple left apparently at the Chatswood store, but Bing Lee and Sony Centre are apparently the same so if anyone has any
of the XBR stock around it should be the same price or you could get Bing to match Sony??

  wow that cheap. why doesn't Melbourne have these deals. i tried price matching using the sony centre printout last time, didn't work round here..

  I was looking at Panasonic TH50Pz800A which is being offered with a Wii. How does this compare?

    You probably have to decide whether you want a Plasma or LCD 1st. then a 50' to a 40"? I would go for the plasma simply because the XBR is EOL'ed model. DickSmith is offering a TomTom and power surge pack as well if you can get comparable prices to match.

  DSE doesnt have the XBR series, they only sell V series as their top of the line
