How Can 3rd Party Companies Sniff The Company Info That's Quick?! ?

Hi fellas,

We've just established a company a week ago, and today, we have received a letter with recipient is our company name and my wife's name on it which is from a third party providing web and email servicešŸ˜². We're quite surprised how the info got "leaked" so quickly, not even mentioned, the letter could have sent out 1 days after our registration. Is the data shared by ASIC or those companies are actively "sniffing" the data source?
Really need you all opinion on this. Really concern me and my wife though

    it's all public

    • i understand it's all public but considering the timeline, wow they're much efficient on top of that šŸ˜…

you registered a company with ASIC, of which company details are publicly listed.
Seems not unusual that there would be companies out there that just scrape such data and spam info to them

Of all the things in establishing a business to worry about, if thats 'really concerning' then you might be in for a tough road ahead

Wait till you find out ASIC partners with brokers who also have that data available :)

You probably will need web and email services. You can do it yourself but it would take countless hours of research and learning. If you and your wife are not in the web and email business then it makes no sense to spend all that time to learn to do it for yourself just once. Any business that scrapes details from ASIC and automatically sends you offers probably charges a lot more than others who can provide web and email services so shop around.

    Lol.

Give us the name of your new business so we can scare you with of your personal details which are now public information.

Sounds like you've started this company with limited research and preparation.

I put a development application in for a swimming pool.
The next week I started getting pool tile samples in the mail, with letter, ā€œCongrats on your development application being approvedā€
It took and additional 6 months for the DA to be approved.
The pool product samples and pamphlets keep coming.

When you obtain an ABN all data is public … not hard to sniff for new numbers …

any unsolicited services after registration, or also when your registration is due to be renewed, will be overpriced. avoid
