Hi, I'm looking for a high quality, somewhat luxurious sheet set for winter, and also a summer set eventually, but less important.
It needs to be a deep wall, so it fits over my thick mattress, which my current sheet struggles with.
But I don't really know what to look for when getting sheets.
King size.
I'm hoping people here know of some that are really good bang for buck.
Thanks in advance!

I don't even really know how to choose though. Is higher thread count always better?
I don't think that is the case, although it is hard to know.
I tend to look at quality more than price, but finding things that are made really well these days is not easy.
@jv is the fount of all knowledge when it comes to thread count.
No he’s just an expert in post count

Linen sheets offer a bit of luxury, although not everyone loves them.
+1 for Linen. You can use them in both Winter and Summer and they will last forever. Problem is they're pretty expensive. They're the RM Williams of bed sheets.
What are some brands you recommend?
I have House and Garden Sandy Cape brand but as said they arent super cheap. https://www.myer.com.au/p/australian-house-garden-sandy-cape…
they arent smooth and silky like sateen (slightly rough like, well, a linen shirt) and are quite light (some people like thicker/heavier sheets). But my wife loves them and thats all we use now!
The 1000tc ones from Target are really good
https://www.target.com.au/p/1-thread-count-cotton-sateen-she…It looked good at first, but I started reading reviews, and people mention shrinkage, and not fitting a king mattress after a bit of use. and that's a concern for me, as my mattress is decently thick.
Go for natural fibre sheets. Cotton, bamboo etc.
Summer sheets = bamboo
Winter sheets = flannelettehttps://in2linen.com.au/in2linen-double-bed-sheet-sets-800tc…
Are the sheets i like.
Sheridan 400 thread count
Flannel sheets are generally the go to for winter. You can find some cheap unused ones on places like gumtree.
Or if you prefer new, online at sites like adairs, bedbathntable, harris scarfe, ikea, peters of kensington etc
