Looking at previous posts this isn't really a bargain, just using OzB for free adz.

      Hi again WatchNerd,

Thanks for your feedback. We addressed the sockpuppeting issue with you last year when you brought it up on our previous post.

Regarding this sale, a user messaged us asking about our next promotion, so we decided to share it. Some users find these posts helpful, while others may not.

      Cheers

  • Hi OP which socks are for hiking?

    • +1

      Hi mhc,

The best styles for hiking in our range would either be the Mid-Length, Long, or Knee-High. But the choice would come down to preference. The Mid-Length and Long socks are thicker than the Knee-High (but not overly thick), and have some reinforcing in the foot for comfort. They're also designed to stay up all day, so they're a snug fit.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to help.

      Cheers

  • So assume Polyacrylate is still an oil based fibre similar to polyester or nylon?

What's the wicking equivalent to polyester?

And how does it hold up to abrasion?

    • +1

      Hi Telios,

Thanks for the questions. While we can't divulge too many details since it's a proprietary fibre, I can share that it’s a treated acrylic-based fibre. Originally developed as a fire retardant fibre for fire blankets used by our emergency services, we discovered it also has excellent antibacterial, antifungal, and odour-free properties.

Our fibre has superior moisture-wicking capabilities comparable to polyester. We've also added nylon to the blend to enhance durability and abrasion resistance.

I hope this answers your questions! If you have any more, feel free to reach out.

Otherwise you can read a little bit more about it here.

      Cheers

Ok my concern then would be that virtually every manmade antimicrobial/antifungal material is quite toxic in some regard.

Everyone thought silver ions were the bees knees until we realised it was damaging water ways and aquatic life and staying in the water table and ground for years.

Everyone thought (or still thinks) that glyphosate was amazing until it was found in water tables and clouds and likely disrupting plant life in aquatic environments.

Or one relevant to your potential clientele - Phos-chek - a fire retardant which was another Monsanto creation in the early 1960s; is linked AGAIN with concerns for aquatic flora and fauna.

Everyone thought DDT was the greatest until it was found to be causing birth defects and abnormalities.

And I could probably go on here we are not great with macro trends as a species.

My point being, what evidence do you have that your proprietary chemical coating, which inevitably will wash and wear out, isn't causing problems for everyone?

          Hi Telios,

Apologies for the late reply and thanks for raising these important concerns. I want to assure you that the antimicrobial and antifungal properties of our proprietary fibre are inherent to the fibre itself. The end product does not have any chemical coating on it. These properties are embedded during the fibre production process, ensuring safety and effectiveness without the risks associated with chemical treatments. It cannot wash out.

It is also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified against harmful substances.

If you have any more questions or need further details, feel free to reach out.

          Cheers,

  • Love my Akeso socks for camping and bushwalking. They are still going strong after four years of wearing them on almost every trip. Even after a heavy day of hiking, I hang them overnight and any foot odour is gone by morning.

Great to hear from you, toasty! I remember you from one of our much earlier posts about you giving us a chance. So chuffed that you’re loving your Akesos after all these years - we truely appreciate the support.

      Cheers
