Lost Mobile Phone on DiDi Ride, How to Retrieve?

hi everyone!
pls help!
i was on a didi ride tonight n dropped my mobile (android phone) in the vehicle when i was getting off. as soon as the door was shut the driver drove away so quick i couldnt stop it.

so i tried to look for didi support in order to find the driver but all points me to login the didi app for support. but my mobile was the lost item so i cannot login to the app! i tried to install the app on my tablet but it requires mobile number to login. apparently putting in my mobile number it requires verification code thru sms which is impossible to complete this requirement.
found the Didi support email address ([email protected]) but the reply i got was:

"This email is no longer monitored. Please submit your query through our Help Center, which is always available in the app. You can access the menu > Help with just a few clicks.

Thank you very much for contacting us."

i used google find my phone n can locate where the phone is.
i have the email from didi with the driver's name n car license plate.

my mobile is using Belong sim n i immediately ordered replacement sim from Belong but its gonna take 2-4 days to arrive. so is it the only option where i have to wait for my new sim, get a new/different mobile phone, install didi app, login n only then i can use the app to contact Didi support to retrieve my mobile?

what else can i do?

Has any of the OzBargain community had similar situations and if so, how did they go about it? Any recommendations?

thx guys!

in the end managed to get my phone back!

i used Google's find my device n from there i can still ring the phone even its in silent mode. i used my housemate's phone to call my number. the didi driver answered n said another passenger found the phone n passed to him. i told the driver my whereabt n he said its far from him (only abt 30mins drive distance) so i offered him $50 cash to bring the phone to me. all along i was able to see his locations from google's find my device.

DiDi support? NONE AT ALL…… everything points u back to the app n if u lose ur phone like what i did here, dont expect anything helpful from DiDi.

      unfortunately its set to silent n vibrate only……

        If it's quiet enough the driver may still hear it.

        You can walk into any Coles/woolworths and get a new Belong SIM and use that SIM for a replacement online
        Then that value is added to your account and you have access again btw

    Maybe the next rider took it.
    Uber changed policy to ask their drivers drop leftover phones into the nearest police station.
