Bosch Electric Lawnmower - Thoughts?

Hi,
I want to buy a Lawn mower and i am not prepared to invest few hundreds in Honda or top of line machines.
The lawn itself is not on a slope, a small patch of rechtangle.

All I need a good mower that cuts the grass well, I was thinking of a Bosch Electric Lawn mower - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07JVD67R3/ref=ox_sc_ac…

I understand the Cons of using electric that I might run over the cable, not as powerful as petrol ones etc.

What are you thoughts on this one?

  • We have this exact model. Bought it for the same reasons as you. It does the job and is powerful enough for our small patch of grass. Do wish it was cordless though but not sure if that will affect the power.

  • Used to have this exact model and it did the trick but I got sick of the cable so sold it on marketplace and bought the Bosch battery powered version.

  • Maybe just a poor photo, but it looks very cheap and nasty….

Not much that can go wrong with an electric lawnmower, unlike a petrol-operated one. The plastic shell is a good thing in my opinion, makes it lighter.

    • If you cut it fairly often then it'll never get overworked.

For $229 you can get the base model Ozito cordless with one battery; so for another $50 you can avoid the cord issue. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-300mm-brushless-la…

You'll be surprised to know that electric mower is quite cable, they are on another level compared to battery one. The only issues are narrow cutting width and eventually you will get sick of the cord.

I had a corded electric. Great mower except for the cord. Fairly quiet, no faffing around with petrol and always instant to start - unless you need to go back and turn the power point on.
Change your mow pattern to work across and back, and away from the power point instead of "circles" and its a bit easier. Ran over my cord once which was annoying. If youve only got one small, simple-shape area corded can be cheap and effective.

Got sick of the cord when we moved house and it required running the cord out to 5 different areas using 3 different power points.

Cordless from now on for me. I'll live with a little less power for cordless convenience. Mow, charge battery after it has cooled, install charged battery before mowing. Simple.

Perfect. Go for it. You only need to buy an extension cord (have been as cheap as $10 for 30m in the past).

Buinnings have a similarish Ozito for $20 more. Both 3 year warranties. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1500w-360mm-corded-lawn-mo…

  • Ever used or considered a Flymo? Ideal corded option for small lawns

    • Never knew something like this existed. Did watch a Ytube Video, priced around 330 mark

  • I have this mower, its perfect for a small patch. Light weight and packs away easy. Reccomend 100%.

  • I have the exact same model. Does the job, but my lawn is only about 15 sq-meters. So not a huge area. Been using it for 2 yrs now.

  • Buy a battery one, so much more convenient and basically the same price for an entry level Ozito.

  • Thank you all for feedback and suggestions

  • I've used that one for a few years. I have no problems with it or the cable. I got it for $99 delivered which was a bargain. For $168 at current price, I would still buy if I needed one.
