  • Can't really recommend these if you like any semblance of bass as myself and many others lost their bass after firmware updates, and Apple removed the ability to use audiograms to fix the bass levels :(

  • I came to terms that it is impossible to find the second hand original ones on marketplace. Knock-offs only

    • Why would you want second hand originals?

      • +1

I’m a huge fan of buying second hand stuff. Huge bargains to be had

        • +1

Same, I will always buy secondhand if I can. 90% of the time, if you're a bit savvy, you can get a great deal for a legit and good-quality item. Unfortunately, I bought a pair of knockoff Airpods Pro 2 before I was aware of just how well-made the knockoffs were, and got scammed. So when it comes to this particular purchase, I'm looking for a great deal from a trustworthy seller. I don't know that I'd be able to bring myself to buy from an ebay seller, it feels too risky.

  • Does anyone know how to be sure these are going to be genuine? There are so many fakes out there I feel very hesitant!

  • +1

Prefer a better deal that could do price match with OW

  • My 1st gen Pros recently became faulty and after dealing with Apple about organising a repair, they advised the serial number related to US stock (I bought them from Kogan 3 years ago) and so won’t honour any claim under ACL.

They suggested I go through Kogan first (yeah, right) so I’m hesitant to order these if there’s no way of knowing whether they’re completely genuine Australian stock. I guess 3 years of medium use is about their lifespan but lesson learnt regardless.

  • Has anyone had their order ship?

    • I took the punt on these despite my last Kogan ordeal and ordered yesterday afternoon but no shipping notification for me yet. When did you order?

      • +1

Mine haven’t shipped either. They told me after I messaged on eBay that ‘they are in stock at their supplier and will be shipped in 2-5 days’. Not happy considering it’s an eBay Plus purchase with free express delivery. I’m also now skeptical whether they are Australian stock or not

    • not delivered yet but got an email around 4pm today saying that it’s shipped. ordered it on tuesday

  • Ordered on Tuesday and shipped on the 6th.

Anyone who bought this should check the warranty.

I received it today and tried to register Applecare+, but it says the item was initially registered in Jan 24, and the limited warranty expires in Jan 25.

I am initiating a return as Apple Support also confirmed the serial number was registered in their system in Jan 24, which means it is not really a brand new.

    • That’s normal when you buy from a reseller. The limited warranty starts when they buy it from Apple.

If you contact Apple Support and provide them with your proof of purchase, they can change the date for you. I just did it with mine and the limited warranty now ends on June 2025 for me.

      • Can you confirm that they’re Australian stock? Mine are due to arrive tomorrow

        • How can you confirm they are Australian stock? I received mine on Friday. Anything I should look for?

        • I'm not sure how to check. When I was on the phone with the support staff though, they did ask which country I got it in. I said Australia and they were still happy to change the limited warranty date. So I assume it's Australian stock? Not sure though.

          • @Muscat84: I updated my purchase date online apple care
