EB Games - Rough Idea on PS5 Slim Trade Value? Plus Download Question

Thinking of getting a ps5 and three games that will never make it to pc, then trade it in when I'm done to hopefully get about half my money back (I'll never use it for non-exclusives). I know the trade in value of the games is never all that good but I read something from only a month or so ago on here saying the slim would fetch $450? Getting that much back would be nice. Also, there used to be a download issue with psn - horribly slow downloads, but you could block a Japanese server to get proper speeds. Has this been fixed? I recall putting up with 12mbit speeds for patches on ps4, and a 25gb game taking 72 hours to download.

  I get full giggerbit speed from Sony servers. Well I used to before I moved to the Noalition NBN house.

  Some info that might be useful?

  • My guess is around $430, maybe more depending on EB games card. Basing this as they seem to align with JB Hifi Trade in which looks to be about that.
  • Check your local store first (give them a call) many won't trade in for cash due to state laws (like NSW), and at least the one near me won't even trade in for gift cards, only a proper trade for something else.
  • CEX will trade in for $440 cash, so maybe a good way to give yourself a bit of limit on what you're willing to accept?
  • Considering the amount you'd lose, it sounds like you might be better off giving a friend a hundo to borrow their PS5 for a month or two?

  Also FWIW I haven't had issues with the PS5 and download speed personally. Seems to go about max. I do remember reading about this in the past, but I reckon it was for Xbox one x or something? Or maybe PS4? Not sure.

    I'm in a state where they do cash, and I sure wish I had a friend like that. I'd happily put an $800 deposit down too. Someone I know got a switch for one game and returned it as "faulty" after a couple of months. They read the fine print, which said you can choose between a replacement and refund. Guess which they took lol
