Best EOFY Apple MacBook Deal 2024 Edition

Hi Ozb, I'm chasing a Apple Mac to replace a dying 2013 model, ideally before EOFY.

I have access to education discounts, if that is relevant.

I am open to refurbishes models.

Use case: internet browsing, YouTube, emails etc. Very unlikely of any heavy use.

Not interested in PC, as the user is an Apple user and the 2013 version has been absolutely amazingly painless for the user (and for me, the main tech person in the house), so sticking with what we know.

I know Apple don't do discounts, but keen to know what deals are out there if any.

Please share any recommended models and retailers to check out.

    If you're wanting to allocate as little as possible, I'd suggest pre-owned MacBook Air M1 with low battery cycle count. My last last six MacBook purchases came from Cashies.

    Same as above comment, pre-loved M1 Macbook Air. Find one with 16GB RAM and you'll have a very capable machine with plenty of headroom for years to come.

      Could get M1 MBP, but I doubt the TouchBar will last 11 years.

    You'll do fine with a MacBook Air M1 or above. Your old Mac lasted you 11 years so you obviously will take care of it, you could treat yourself to 16GB RAM if you'll still be using it 11 years from now.

    Basically just buy any M series MacBook you want. Unless you want to connect like four external monitors at once or anything like that.
